Hi!

We are going with my family this summer, and flying. We are planning on using the Magical Express. We do, however, want to go to Sea World for one day's visit.

My two oldest kids will be six and eight years old. My youngest daughter will turn two during our vacation.

So I have two questions:

1) How should we get there? My immediate family is three kids, my wife and myself. But...there will also be four other adults and two other children (age 10 both) going as well. How should we travel to Sea World from Pop Century?

2) Are car seats an option, espeically for our soon-to-be two year old?

Thanks for all of your help!

Last March, I took a cab from Disney's Beach Club Resort to Sea World. At 8:30 AM it was a fifteen minute ride. Cost was $23.65 (plus tip).

There are cabs in front of Sea World to get you back to the hotel.

But given the size of your group, I would call Tiffany Towncar and ask them about pricing.

Another option is renting a car for one day. You can get rental cars at the Dolphin hotel. There's one other place - maybe the Car Care Center?

I've never travelled with young children, so I can't answer your car seat question.

If you are flying you can gate check the cars seat or if it's FAA approved (most are) use the seat on the plane. You can rent car seats from rental companies but you don't know anything about their condition, if they have been in any accidents or even if they are expired.

Is a car seat an option? It's a legal requirement, even in a taxi.

I would just arrange for 2 van taxis for the trip, and bring your own car seat and gate check that. (Does the youngest child have her/his own seat on the plane? If so, then bring the car seat on the plane and have the child sit in it. Otherwise, gate check it.) The taxi company will provide a car seat if you ask, but you have no way of knowing what condition the seat is in and it may arrive very poorly installed. It can be hard enough to get a good, tight install on a car seat you are familiar with, let alone one you've never seen before, hence the recommendation to bring your own.

(I say this assuming Sea World has some sort of bag check where you can leave the car seat for the day. If not, you'll need to go with whatever seat the taxi service will provide.)

Another option??? The Lynx bus from TTC. Get a bus over to MK early in the day, then monorail over to the TTC. If you go to golynx.com, you can find the schedule. I think it's the number 50 bus. We took it before and it was actually surprisingly easy to do. You do need to tell the driver you are going to SW as you get on...otherwise they won't stop!! When you get off, just cross the parking lot and enter the park. When you're done, leave the park, cross the parking lot, cross the street, and head to the bus stop sign...blue with a pawprint on it..to the left if I remember correctly. It is pretty inexpensive as well...less than $2 pp, each way. You should have correct change with you.

If you go the taxi route or the towncar route, you will need car seats.

Can be difficult leaving property with out a car....well no it isn't. We've done several excursion including Sea World and Universal. We always use a certain service that picks us up at our resort with car seat and brings us to our destination. We set a pick up time but just in case I have the drivers cell number to call if we need anything prior to that time. Worked out great.....needless to say we use them all the time even from the airport.

I agree with using Lynx. We did that on a previous trip and it was very easy and cheap!! The buses come fairly often, but we just timed our day around the bus schedule. My daughter even thought of it as an adventure as she had never riden a city bus before. :)
