Hi everyone

What is the best way to get from the cabins to whispering canyon? We will have a golf cart but I’m assuming that won’t help us

A golf cart will help you to get to the Settlement. From there you can take a bus or boat to WL (depending on the time of day, since the boats don’t start running until afternoon).

^^^ THIS ^^^

I think the boat option (only runs in one direction - CW or CCW) only is available after 2 or 3pm.

Best bet is to cart down to the HDDR/TE (Settlement Bus Depot) end of the Fort and take a bus, as @fla4fun sez, from Settlement Bus Depot to WL which runs about every 10-15 minutes. And back for the return.

WATCH the overhead sign boards of the buses as they pull into Settlement. They may come in saying ONE THANG and when the are ready to load passenger at Settlement, the overhead may say ANOTHER. Don't be afraid to ask the driver "where are you going next"? They've heard it all before and don't mind the question.

Thank you so much!

Good to know! Thank you!

Boat starts at 3pm! Take the boat over and a bus back!

One thing to keep in mind is the boat service to Wilderness Lodge is going to be suspended, I think from April 13 through late July 2026. They're working on the dock at the Lodge.

The boats will not run April 13th to May 1st. Dock work will continue until July, but the boats will be back in May. They were down a little over 6 weeks ago and came back sooner than expected, maybe the same will happen this time.

And just to note: the boats aren't just one way - they will circle around between the campground, Wilderness Lodge, and Contemporary, with one boat going in each direction (Camp, Wilderness, Contemporary, Camp - and Camp, Contemporary, Wilderness, Camp). I've been known to leave Wilderness heading to the campground but hopping on the boat going to Contemporary first, just to take the longer boat ride as I find the boats so relaxing and scenic.

I never use the bus to get to Wilderness Lodge - but I also never go over there before 3pm so it works out.

BTW - long ago when Wilderness Lodge first opened, the long path that runs between the campground and the lodge used to be open to golf carts...you could take your cart all the way down to the Wilderness Lodge end - park in a little cul-de-sac and walk up to the Lodge. It was about 100 feet past where the Wilderness bus stop is. We always carted over to the lodge for lunches, dinners, bar visits, etc. and was so nice to have our cart waiting to ride back to the campground. I miss those days!
