Getting from BWV to Grand Floridian?

On our next trip, we will be staying at our home resort, BWV. We would like to go to 1900 Park Fare for the character breakfast one morning, and it looks like the only morning that is feasible is the morning we will be going to MK...it will be a regular 9am opening at MK, without EMH.

If we want to avoid the hassle of driving to the GF and then to the TTC to take the monorail to MK, is it possible to take the MK bus and then the monorail, if we have an 8:05am ADR (I was told on another thread that this is the earliest ADR time)? What time does the monorail start running?

Here's Plan B...and please don't flame me...we will have the TiW card. I know that currently, valet parking is free at resorts (minus the gratuities) when you dine there and use the TiW card. Under these circumstances, how long can you leave the car in valet parking without having to pay (besides tip of course)? I know that for self-parking, they allow up to 3 hours so that it is not an inconvenience to guests staying at that resort, and you cannot self-park at resorts for theme park access. But I have read other threads where people say they valet park to go to the theme parks and it is OK. I am just wondering if they would charge us after a certain time, when using the TiW card for free valet.

And of course there's Plan C...the one I am trying to avoid...drive to the GF and self-park; then drive to the TTC and take the monorail to MK. Or, we could just suck it up and pay the extra for valet if necessary.

You could just take a taxi, it isn't far and wouldn't be a high fare and it would be less aggravating than the scenarios you suggest. After you are done at the park, you can catch a bus right back to your home resort, so you will only have the cab fare one way, in the morning.

How about going to the character breakfast at BCV? My family, adults and the DGC enjoy it!

We've driven over to the Poly from other resorts for breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. After breakfast, most of us head to MK and then DS parks the car at the MK and meets the rest of us there. We've also taken the bus to the MK and then the boat to the Poly, the boat goes to the GF too.

I think (not sure) that there is a time limit on the free valet with tiw. I can't seem to find anything that clearly states one way or the other though.

I think there is a boat that runs between the Grand Floridian and the Magic Kingdom, but I'm not sure what time it begins running.

When we've done brunch at Chef Mickey's from another resort, we make a reservation as late as we can (so it's almost lunch). We start at the Magic Kingdom as soon as it opens, then take a break for our reservation and return to the MK.

Good luck working out the best plan for you!

I'm all for taking a taxi in situations like yours. Many times when we're staying at BWV we'll take a taxi to the guard shack at the Contemporary and then walk to MK. It's so much easier nad less stressful early in the morning.

In May we took the bus from Pop to MK and caught the Monorail to GF for an 8:15am at 1900. The buses started running at 7:00 and I think the monorail did also.

Remember there are 8:00am breakfasts at MK and the monorail resort guests need to be able to get there.

Thank you for the replies everyone! Sounds like a taxi is the easiest thing to do, and then the bus back to BWV. Is the taxi less expensive than paying for valet parking at the GF?

As far as the character breakfast at BCV, we did it last summer and we really loved it. But...DS6 is allergic to shellfish, and Cape May serves shellfish at dinner. We tried to go there for dinner last summer, and this was how we found out that they steam the crab legs out in the open...we walked through the restaurant as the hostess was bringing us to our table, DS6 breathed in the steam, and he immediately got a stuffy nose, his eyes turned red and his face started turning red. We took him right out of there, the manager came out and everything. Within 2 minutes of leaving the restaurant, he was fine. The manager said she would arrange for us to go to any other restaurant we want, due to the circumstances. We went to Kouzzina and ended up finding a hidden gem (for us anyway). I was hesitant about going back for breakfast, but we gave it a try. DS6 was fine there for breakfast, and the chef came out to talk to us. He did tell us that there is a slight chance that someone the night before was eating crab legs and there could be remnants on the crayons, or even on the seat. So we didn't let DS6 color...and he ended up being fine. But, we decided not to risk it again. So no character breakfast at BCV. Besides...my kids LOVE the Mad Hatter and really want to see him again at the 1900 PF breakfast!

We would go to Crystal Palace at MK at 8am, but we are going there a different night for dinner, so we want to go someplace different...and like I said above, the whole Mad Hatter thing for my kids!
