I am considering doing the Richard Petty Driving Experience and was wondering how to get from the Beach Club to the Driving Experience. Does anyone know? We will not have a car but will be relying on Disney Busses. Help!!!!!!

I may be wrong, but I believe you can take the bus to the MK, then either boat or monorail to TTC and from there they have a shuttle that runs over to the speedway. Or another option might be to go through Epcot (if you have the passes), and get on the monorail to the TTC from there

WDWMOM2,

WE ARE DOING THE ROOKIE EXP. NEXT FRIDAY AT 8:00AM. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TIME YOU ARE SCHEDULED BUT WE WERE TOLD TO BE THERE BY 7:30. SEVERAL FOLKS ON THESE BOARDS TOLD ME TO CALL A TAXI INSTEAD OF DISNEY TRANS. JUST IN CASE THEY AREN'T ON TIME.

I HOPE THAT HELPS.

I am actually giving this to my husband as an anniversary present. He loves Nascar and has no idea that I am doing this. Will you please let me know how it was and what taxi you used. We aren't going until April.

Thanks

Sharon

I would looove to do the ride-along on this! :hyper: I'm guessing it's the rookie experience?!?

Anyone know how far ahead it should be booked? We're going to be there the second week of May. But I'm not sure if this would fit into our budget yet, probably won't know until we are actually there! :(

My DD and I gave my husband the rookie experience for is 40th BD in Dec. We will be at WDW in April (he is reserved for 9 April). I posted a question about this a few weeks ago. We are at the WL (closer to the TTC). Based on the replies (Thanks Tyler) Disney transport may work for us but he will most likely take a cab (7:30 seems to be a firm time for the Petty people). I don't think the cab will cost too much. (I saw sample fares on a website once).

Cabs are usually outside the major resorts (or guest services can arrange one the night before)

The rookie experience is the you drive for 8 laps. The woman on the phone was suprised I booked so far in advance. I bet you could get a reservation 4 weeks out or less (unless it is a peak time). The Petty people were very helpful but I waited on hold over a half an hour (at least it was their 1-800 #).

I would love to know how this goes for you LAH.

HELLO EVERYONE!!!!!!

I JUST RETURNED LAST NIGHT FROM WDW. WE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. MY BF DID RICHARD PETTY ON FRIDAY MORNING. WHAT A BLAST!!!!!

WE TOOK A CAB FROM OUR RESORT (POR) TO THE SPEEDWAY. THE COST WAS $10.50. IT ONLY TOOK US 10 MINUTES TO GET THERE. WE ARRIVED AT 7:30 ON THE NOSE. THE DRIVERS CHECKED IN AND CLASS STARTED AT 8:00AM. WE HAD A FULL CLASS. (20 DRIVERS) THE WHOLE THING WAS 4 HOURS.

ANY QUESTIONS......ASK AWAY!!!!!!

Was it worth the money and what did you do while he was driving? What was his top speed?

Sharon

WDWMOM2,

IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY!!!!! HE HAD A BLAST AND EVEN THOUGH I BROUGHT TWO MAGAZINES WITH ME, I DIDNT READ THEM. HE WAS THE FIRST TO DRIVE SO HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE HE STUCK TO THE "4 CAR LENGTH" RULE. HIS TOP SPEED WAS 117. ALL THE OTHER DRIVERS DID NOT STUCK TO THE RULE SO THEIR TOP SPEEDS WERE 120-125.
