Does anyone who owns DVC have a good solution for buying food without renting a car? Cabs to supermarkets?

Also, does Disney still run a a bus MCO to the resort?

Thank you.

Garden Grocer, order and pay online, they will deliver groceries right to your resort.
And yes, you can get Magical Express from the airport to your resort.

We use Garden Grocer every year. They're great, reliable and better asst. and healthier options than from Disney. I had one issue, called them and they immediately took the item off my bill.

We don't eat a lot on the rooms, breakfast foods, snacks, etc, not enough for Garden Grocer. We just buy items at stores at hotels/villas. While prices are inflated, was less expensive and easier than renting a car, and was cheaper than quick service (eggs/bacon/OJ). Used shopping list on DVC site. They even picked up product that was not on the regular list for food allergy issue. Also breakfast bars etc can be put in luggage (if you have room).

We have used Garden Grocer a few times - No problems/issue.

We rent a car for the day and shop where we want , when we want and we aren't limited to only certain items. We eat a meal off site and maybe shop the Disney clearance store. The cost works out to be about the same as paying for delivery with the inflated prices, tips and fees. Our last Garden Grocer order had some errors and it took 2 days, a couple of phone calls to get it fixed.

We've done Garden Grocer (the other one is We Go Shop, I'm not sure if they are still around). You can pack or ship your shelf staples and then get eggs, milk and bread (which crushes) at the gift shop as well. It sort of depends on how much grocery shopping we are going to do - we've done it both ways.

We grocery shopped once, and didn't find it a worthwhile use of our vacation time, that was a year we had a rental car.

Whole Foods also delivers. Very reliable.
Good to know. Can you explain how this works? Do they have a website for delivery orders or do you email them a shopping list or call them or ??? Is there a delivery charge?

We've used Garden Grocer and Wegoshop. Good and bad experiences over the years but shopping with a rental didn't really work for us either. Right now Wegoshop has a $100 gift certificate for $75. It almost offsets the delivery charge so we are using them next trip. You have to watch the your travel dates though. You can't use the certificate for at least 1 month from purchase date and then have 9 months to use it. (So expiration is 10 months from purchase date.)

We have used Garden Grocer several times with good service. Check their website and decide if it's a good deal....based on how long you are staying and what you might need. For 4 or 5 days we bring some items but for 7 to 10 days for our family of 7 adults and kids we order water, soda, breakfast items, fruit, chips, juice, sandwich items. We've always had good service, on time delivery. Oh and they also deliver her and wine, would just need to fax in a copy of ID or be there for delivery instead of them leaving with bell services. Correction! Beer and wine!

No order form -- I submit my shopping list in an email being as specific as possible. Their concierge rep then responds with any needed substitutions or clarifications. The rep also shops coupons and often saves me several dollars on each order. Their delivery fee varies (according to the FAQ on the linked page, $20-50) but mine are typically $30.

We used Garden Grocer. It was great because we didn't have a rental car. Ordered some snacks, cereal, a case of bottle water because we all know how much bottle water is in the parks! Pop Century even stored our cold milk for us before we arrived at the hotel. You must rebook the delivery times online!

Very helpful, thanks!

We also rent a car for one day. You can get a rental for around $50 at the Dolphin.

Look for discount codes, our last day rental was $32 for the day including fees and tax. We also use Alamo at the Dolphin.

Amazon Pantry. Shipping is only $5.99 or if you're a Prime member and spend at least $50 shipping is only $1.99! They'll ship right to the resort.

On our last trip over Easter, we used Strollers and Groceries and we were pleased with their options, price, and service. I originally tried to book Garden Grocer but waited too long and they did not have our dates available for delivery. I found Strollers and Groceries through an internet search and it worked out great! I would definitely use them again.

Garden Grocer does a great job, IMHO. If you order 60 days out, there is a 10% discount (7% for 30 days; 5%For 15 days). Service is excellent. We've used them for several years and their selection has improved a great deal. They also offer beer, wine & liquor (must fax them an ID). You do not need to be present to accept your order. You can pay the total (and tip if you wish) on-line. The bell staff ensures perishables are refrigerated. Highly recommended.
