getting DPA or Standby Passes

If you have a vacation package, can you buy another DPA when you scan into the park and get a standby pass then too? Also, what time do you make you first DPA, at 0900 or do you go little later so that you can do a ride standby first?

Yes

I did the VP passes for afternoon and bought/got whenever we could.

Yes, you can get both standby and DPA passes in addition to the package tickets. I didn't actually buy any DPAs, but I used standby and 40th anniversary access passes all day.
