Getting Disney Visa card / Can I use it anywhere to get disney rewards?

I've got a couple ?s on getting this disney visa card. First of all, is there one best place where I can apply for one and get a promotional gift of sorts(not sure what it's called). Like when they give you $50 of rewards, or gift card or some such thing. I remember last year seeing a couple different things but never applied.

Also, is it $1.00 disney reward dollars for each $100.00 you spend, is that right?

And, what can I use my card to pay for to build up reward dollars? Can I pay anything? Such as bills, my real estate tax bill, my groceries, meds, gas, anything or are there restrictions? It would be great if I could just pay everything with the card and then pay off the card each month. So will that work? If so, I'll have to do it quick so I can pay my tax bill early June!

Be careful...Check with your municipality whether they charge a "convenience fee...I believe the IRS does for payment of federal income tax..."..maybe you'll be lucky...

You get 1% back on all purchases on the card so 100 worth or purchases get you $1 and you can use the card anywhere Visa is accepted.

They are offering a $15 reward now just for signing up at http://disney.go.com/visa/today/index.html. You may find better ones if you just look. I also see a $40 credit if you apply and use it to purchase a trip to WDW at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index.

There is a dollar limit each year also of $750 disney dollars. The Card also offers bonus rewards at times to some account holders. Currently there is a 5x the rewards for purchases on Grocery, Gas, Airline and Dining during Apr, May and June. I have read that everyone doesn't have the same threshold for purchases, but mine is any purchases each month over $250. This offer has a maximum earnings of $100, not including the $750.

No I don't I just have the postcard I received in the mail. It has a phone number to call to sign up. If you called the number and you were included in the offer it would sign you up. If not you just couldn't activate the offer. You did actually have to call or sign up with a personalized PIN. If you would like the phone number, you could sign up at any time and get all the bonus, I will email it to you. I did post the phone number a week or 2 ago and that thread dissappeared. NOt sure if it had to do with the number or not.

Thanks for the responses! I've been trying to get to signing up since monday night but not yet. Probably finally able to get to it by Friday night.

I emailed chase about the 5X rewards. They said its only offered to certain cardmember depending on region or to test certain promotions. I didnt qualify. I let them know i read about the 5x on a disney board and i wanted in on the promo. I also let them know i also had the citi bank which offers 2% on certain categ. The response just said if the disney card doesnt work for me then i can sign up for the chase freedom card. Also to keep an eye on my mail for promos. Hopfully they will put me on the list for future mail specials. I got the disney card for the 6 months 0% on disney vacation packages. In the first month i've earned $16.00. I'm bummed i cant pay my mortgage with it, that would be $15 each month automatcially. oh well, whatever we earn will go toward food or gifts

We got the Jan-Feb-Mar 5x promo but I had forgotten about it until reading this post and tried to apply for the current 5x promo for Apr-May-Jun and they told me the same thing - I did not qualify.
