For everyone getting married and honeymooning past and present....Are you doing or wearing anything special to annouce your new status at the parks??? I don't think that I can get DF to wear bride and groom ears ( he thinks his head is too big....I think that is a lame excuse!). I was thinking about getting shirts made. Does anyone else have any creative ideas? We are going during the year of a million wishes, I don't think it will hurt if we draw some attention to ourselves!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Well...me and my DH did it ALL! HAHA! We wore the ears for a couple days, shirts one day, and buttons and pins! It's a lot of fun and adds a lot to the Disneymoon and you Wedding! :)

Oh yeah baby we're milking this for all its worth! :thumbsup2

We're wearing t-shirts I made, our bride and groom ears, and a pile of DFTW pins :cool1:

We wore our ears every day after the wedding. We got to be Grand Marshalls in the MK parade the day after our wedding.

DH and I celebrated our honeymoon at WDW back in 2002. We were there for about a week and wore bride and groom hats everyday as well as matching t-shirts! DH is a pretty creative guy so he made some "ears" out of our bride and groom hats (bought at David's Bridal) and he designed disney themed t-shirts that we wore each day at the parks. When we went out to PI at night or whatever, we did not wear our ears, but instead wore the pins.

DH's head was a little too big for the groom ears...we bought some anyway...he wore them on our wedding day while at Epcot, but chose to wear the hat we brought the rest of the time instead. He made me bridal ears out of the baseball bride cap as well as a pair of ears on a headband with a veil that I wore on our wedding day, so I wouldn't mess up my $60 'do! (We were married at a chapel off-site in Orlando...and it was before WDW started selling the bridal ears headbands)

The attention we got was fun! It was mostly "congratulations" as we walked through the parks, but it was still fun!! :)

My DH said his head was to big for the groom hat as well...So we got him the standard ears and instead of his name had them write groom on the back...He loved it...Oh and i did buy the matching shirts from the disney store....Those are so cute
we had "Starting our Happily Ever After at WDW" put on it...a big hit

I just order two shirts and think I'm going to order two more - they're on sale right now. We will have a laundry machine in our villa at the BW and given we will be there in August, it's going to be hot, and not to be gross, but I'm gonna wanna wash that shirt!

We got the ears for our shower last weekend and yes, the top hat is too small for my big melon as well - but I will make the best of it and wear it a few times at least - especially for pictures.

I'm on ebay bidding on pins and a Pal Mickey right now as well. They have some cute pins with Mickey and mini in wedding gear. I also made sure our reservation said it was our honeymoon just in case there was a possibility to upgrade when we check in. Not sure how full the BW will be the last week in August but it's worth a shot.

My MIL got us flip flops that say Just married on the bottom so if you walk in sand or something your feet print will say just married - not sure how much a chance we will get to use them there but what ever - make the bride-to-be happy and after all, that’s what’s important.

I have to admit, at first I was more then just a little reluctant to wear all the just married stuff but this only happens once so as sajetto said: "milk it for all it’s worth!"

SLsguy,
Just to let you know, you can get the Mickey & Minnie in wedding attire pins for free at the Town Hall on Main Street at WDW. They are round, white & about 3 " across. If this is what you are bidding on on eBay, you're getting ripped off since they are free. My DD & her husband wore theirs instead of the Wedding Ears. His head was too big also.

We're also bidding on a lot of pins. We've spent a lot on them but we wanted the wedding pavilion pin, the DFTW stained glass pin, the cake cutting pin, the threshold pin, and the proposal pin. They are so cute, but we're going to look like such dorks walking around with all of those things pinned all over our shirts.

Ut oh, hope were not bidding on the same ones sajetto!

I'm bidding on one that has mickey carying mini - I assuem thats the "threshold" one

The other one I'm bidding on is called a "build-a-pin": harts in the background and mini in her dress on one side and mickey in his tux on the other with an area at the bottom that you can get engraved.

evedein - do either of those sound like the ones you can get for free?

We were married at WDW, so we return for every anniversary. I didn't feel right wearing the wedding ears and having people think we'd just gotten married there. But I LOVE those ears :) So we wear the anniversary ears now, that say 4 year anniversary. That way, we still get to wear our beloved ears, but no one will take us for newlyweds.

We got the idea when we first saw an elderly couple wearing the anniversary ears - I thought it was very neat, and sweet to see them still wearing their bridal ears :)
Cheers!
Heather W

slsguy I love the flip flops with the just married on the bottom--they sound adorable! Do you know where she got them?

no I'm not bidding on anything right now. Neither one of those are things you can get for free. The ones evedein is talking about are just round buttons that are not like official disney trading pins.

Garder1 - I'm not sure where she got them but do a search in google - I have seen them TONS of places.

Maybe someone on here can help me actually - I'm hoping to find a beach area that will look pretty at sun-set. I want to walk along the water's edge with my bride wearign the flip flops and then take a picture of the just married foot steps in the sunset to use for the cover of our album.

Does the Beach Club have a nice beach? I'm staying at the BWV - can I use it if they do?

Beach club had shipwreck beach which is wonderful...also the polly (nice view of the castle in the back)...dont forget the wedding pavilion has a sandy beach ....they comb the beach most am...so get there early and there your foot prints will be the only ones

we wore the just married buttons afterwards, i wore the bridal ears a few days. for our welcome dinner & magic kingdom after that we = myself, hubby & our parents wore disney tshirts announcing our titles (picture below)

also slsguy, the yacht & beach club does have a nice beach. my husband & i did a photo like that we drew a heart in the sand & wrote our names inside the heart, the picture turned out real cute. ill try adding it later.

If you want to add your own pics to the shirts, you can always purchase plain shirts and transfer paper (available at Walmart for around $10 for 5 transfer sheets). You can Disney-fy it by checking out the CreativeDISign forum here on the boards. The ladies who regularly post there are wonderful and can make some really great Disney pics to transfer onto T-shirts. They will probably even help you do it. I've made a few transfer shirts and they are pretty cool! Since your wedding is a few months before your Honeymoon you can even add pics from your wedding to shirts!

HTH.

We just got back from our 2 week disney trip and wedding and I urge all you future brides - do it all!! We had the greatest time wearing thoe pins and getting congratulations and questions asked on every ride, store, you name it. It was an amazing feeling and milk it for all its worth - whne else can you get that kind of treatment? I wore a shirt, ears and pin to PI before our wedding and the Dj was giving shout outs to our grup all night. Just awesome
