DH recently had a problem with his foot. We thought it was going to be fine by the time we left for vacation, but it looks like it's still not going to be possible for him to do the kind of walking we would normally do at Disney. We're not doing a whole week at the parks, just visiting relatives around there, and planning 2 park days - Blizzard Beach and Epcot.

For BB, he just figures he'll do what he can and spend a lot of time on the lazy river. But what about Epcot? - Do they have those little scooters you can rent or anything? And if so, how much do they cost? Do you get them where you get strollers, or at guest assistance?

What all do I need to know?

I broke my foot 2 years ago 2 months before our trip. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to walk around so I did some research on those scooters. Luckily I didn't need one but people did tell me they were available. Check out www.allears.net. They have a great section on getting around Disney with disabilities and offer links to companies that rent the scooters. I can't remember if Disney does but check out that website for info. Best of luck and hope he's feeling better soon! :cheer2:

i had to use an ecv on our last trip due to a back injury - be sure you get to the parks on the early side if you are renting at the parks. we went around 11 one day and they were sold out. dh was already pushing dd in a stroller so a regular wheelchair wasn't an option. had to do quite a bit of walking while waiting for an ecv to become available. luckily, they did agree to take our cell number and let us know when one became available. another note on that though - technically they are only allowed to rent to the person who will be using the ecv, not a spouse, etc. we didn't know that and sent dh back to the other side of the park to pick up the ecv for me and they let him have it but made it clear that i was supposed to be getting it, not him. he explained he didn't think i'd make it all the way back and i guess that's why they let him have it at that point.

good luck!
