getting around the parks

hello can anyone help me out with getting from park to park (we do have park hopper passes), downtown disney, etc... we are staying off site, and they do have a shuttle bus to the park, but im not sure when it runs... is there a link with a bus/monorail map and schedule? i hear that if you stay offsite, (and miss your hotel shuttle) there are public(?) buses that will take you to the parks or wherever. does anyone know how much they cost? any and all help would be greatly appreciated, i have no clue where to start! oh, one more thing- how long should i plan to get from park to park? (were going the first week in may). thanks again!

Getting from park to park is simple. The buses run continuously inbetween the parks. You just head to the bus stations and wait at the sign indicating the park you wish to go to next. There is no published schedule on the buses or monorail, but don't worry about it. There are plenty of buses and you will have one stop for you pretty quickly. The buses don't require you to stay onsite, anyone can use them.

One thing about park hopping. I have to admit I have done it, but I don't like it. It does take quite awhile to leave one park, get the bus to another, travel, enter another park, pass security again and get going. I think it wastes a tremendous part of the day (At least an hour). I think your time is much better spent completely enjoying the one park you are at. There is plenty. Wanting to go to another restaurant, or riding that one ride, just isn't worth the hassle to me. Then again, I move around a 5 and 2 year old. Maybe I will see this differently when my kids are teens.

thanks for all the info. one more question- where do i catch a bus if im staying offsite? i really just need to know if it should be within walking distance from the hotel...
