We're planning out the details of our upcoming May trip, which includes a night at the 6pm Cirque show. We're considering a dinner at Cap'n Jacks, but having never been, I have no real sense of how far of a walk it would be. The one map shows them on opposite ends of downtown.

So I guess my questions are...

How far apart are these two places?
What other ways can one get around downtown besides walking?

The reason I ask, is my 70-yr old mother-in-law would not be up for a long walk.

TIA...

They are pretty far apart, I would say perhaps 20 to 30 minutes depending on the pace.
The only way to avoid the walk, besides a taxi, would be to walk back to the Market Place bus stop and take the bus to the West Side.

It could be 20-30 minutes if you walked along the outside of DTD.

DTD is curved along the lake. There is a shortcut between the west side and the marketplace, through PI, (without going into PI), which cuts the time to about 15 minutes or so.

There is a boat that goes across the water from about Cirque to over by Captain Jack's. No need to walk and it is a nice ride. Also free.

Welcome to the DIS.

the boat is hard to find (or it was for me) - so be sure to ask a CM where it is before you try to find it.

Thanks folks... the disney folks call it the "Trumbo Ferry" and it runs every 15 minutes, leaving the marina and heading west. Looks like it'll work perfectly.
