We will be arriving on Saturday, Dec. around 1:00 pm. Is it a good idea to head straight to the park or is it just too busy on Saturday's to be enjoyable. I am worried my kids will be cranky after getting up at 5:00 am, but I don't want to miss anything. If we don't go at all on Saturday is there anything won't be able to do on other days, parades, fireworks, etc?

One more thing, we are staying at the Anabella - is there a grocery store near there we can walk to for some supplies?

Thanks for any advice.

I think you would have to judge things yourself on whether to go on your day of arrival or to skip it.

To find out if you will miss anything, go to http://www.disneyland.com and click on parades and shows on the left hand column. Put in your dates and it will give you a list of park hours, parade & show times, as well as if anything will be closed during your visit.

Not sure on the store.
