Has anyone had any success obtaining a recipe after you've left WDW?

We've arrived home and its only now that I realize I should've asked Boma if they could share with me the recipe for the glorously wonderful kalamata olive hummus. I've searched Deb's site and its not there.. It's only been a few days but already I'm craving its creamy perfection. I could cry for not having begged the Boma chefs for the secret of its tangy delicousness.

Can anyone help me? Do you think there's some way I could contact Boma for the recipe? I'm going through withdrawl!! :rotfl2:

If you mean one of the 3 hummuses they have in the buffet (for the flatbread), then here's what I heard.

I tried to ask them that while I was there and our server was so funny.
He said that of all the food they made there I had to ask the one thing they bought off site... LOL!!!
But yeah, their hummuses(sp?) are supposedly purchased instead of made.
Sorry, I was disappointed too...

then again it could be that he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Ug, really?! I wonder what brand they are!! This was the best hummus I'd ever had!

Thanks kerry34! There is a recipe for hummus on there.. I may have to try that one and see if I can tweak it taste like the I had!

DH and I honeymooned at WDW in '93 and I had the Cobb Salad at Brown Derby which I greatly enjoyed. After returning to the real world I had to host a ladies luncheon at work and thought it would be a great salad to serve. I called, was transferred several times, but finally talked with someone that appreciated my quest and faxed me the recipe. This was way before easy access to internet! I still have the (barely legible) recipe in my box on the old thermal fax paper!

Curiouser,

You're in luck. Just yesteday I emailed the AKL for recipes. I received them this morning.

Send your requests to: Peggy.Gentry@disney.com

The recipes come from the Culinary Team at the AKL. So if you need any recipes from Boma, Jiko, Mara or, perhaps, a drink recipe (like I did) from one of the bars, just email Peggy.

If you return to the AKL, and want a recipe, just ask your waiter(waitress). They will give you a form to complete. I did this in Nov. 2004. About a week later, I received an email with the recipes.

I was going to suggest Peggy Gentry also. I too asked for a recipe last month when we dined at Boma and got an email several days later from Peggy.

Kathy, you are my HERO!!! :teeth: :wizard:

Now let's just hope they have a recipe for it, or if they don't, that they can tell me the brand! :teeth:

some of these seem very doable... i think i might have to try a few.

Wow! That was fast-- she already emailed me back! The rumour is true, they do purchase the hummus from Greek Island Spice out of Ft. Lauderdale.

Go Disney for such effiency!
