I have been on and off of here all day. All of a sudden I got a warning that the site's security certificate expired and it's not safe to go here? I have tried on both Chrome and IE and gotten the same message. Anyone else getting the message all of a sudden, and does anyone know who to report it to?

Me too. Safari isn’t thrilled with my decision to visit anyway. I’m going to see if it’s on the technical support board

1. Yes this should absolutely get fixed.

2. But for those worried about security, you should generally still be safe to login and use the site. A recently expired certificate is still better than no certificate at all and can generally be trusted. (There is a bit of good information in this article talking about some of the ones likely to expire due to shutdown - https://techcrunch.com/2019/01/17/federal-https-domains-expire-government-shutdown/). This is of course entirely unrelated to the gov't shutdown, but the context could be useful for those curious but not familiar with how security certificates work.

I got it too, went and cleaned the kitchen and when I came back i was able to log on. Guess it's ok now? At least it prompted me to get off my butt and wash the stupid dishes.

I got it also. Couldn’t get on until I shut down my phone. Than had no problems after I turned it back on.

I got it too. If you are on Firefox, scroll down, click on "Advanced," And there will be a button saying to make the site an exception for the certificate. Click yes, since we know the site is safe.

Hopefully they will update the certificate soon.

I finally got on just now but I was getting that message all day.

I got the message on Safari for MacOS. It noted it then asked me if I wanted to go the site anyways. Then it asked me for permission to place an exception for the site. I guess that's why I don't get any more warnings.

Their SSL certificate expired yesterday. If you look at the current one it's validity started at 6:33:22pm yesterday. An expired certificate doesn't necessarily mean you were any less secure, just that it aged out and needed replaced. Browsers warn you about it but if you inspect a certificate and it looks legitimate and is only expired by a day or hours you are usually safe to add a temporary exception and move on.

Hopefully whomever is in charge of the renewals set a calendar reminder for January 22, 2021 when this one expires.
