I am really really trying to be understanding with CRO, but I swear they are driving me NUTS!!!

I understand that they need my personal information... name, zip code, address, phone #, email addres, etc., every time I call, I'm getting use to that. (even though it bugs me) But now it's getting a little out of hand. The last 3 times I have called they have asked for the names and birthdates of my children before they will even check availability. I don't mind giving them the names and ages, but why do they need the exact birthdates??? And why do they keep asking me this everytime I call??? Are they going to be sending them birthday cards???? LOL ;)

I swear I spend 5-10 minutes telling all this dang information every single dang time I call CRO when all I want are the dang rates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why can't they keep track of all this info in the computer system. That way when I call and give my name and zip code they can pull it all up, see what they need, and then check the rates. Doesn't that make more sense?? Wouldn't that cut down on these long call times (that of course are long distance).

OK... I'm done ranting now. ;)

Good question, Erika. One thing I'm not looking forward to is planning my AKL/DCL/GF trip and having to call CRO. I booked my upcoming DCL cruise over the net, and it was so easy. Now if only the resorts had the good discounts available online, then no need to talk to CRO.

Luckily Laura is handling our trip this time so I haven't had to deal with CRO. :) I just wanted to find out the availability in case my brother-in-law and his family decide to join us next week.... but I'm not calling CRO again! ;) LOL Bro-in-law can handle it from now on. I am done! :p

I don't know, maybe I'm just getting lucky, but every time I call all I have to give is my last name and zip code and then they pull my information right up. In fact, most of the time I just put in my phone number before I actually speak to a CM and usually they already have all my information up on the screen by the time I get on the line with them.

You are lucky! I enter my phone # every time I call, but they still play 20 questions.

The funny thing is that I KNOW they have my info because the first thing the CM always says is, "Wow, I can see you come to Disney World often", or something like that.

I have not been asked too too personal info ie: kids birthdates until I have actually made the reservation, not just enquired about rates and availability and I'm from Canada - just been lucky?

Same thing here. It is terribly annoying to have to answer all these questions. Is there any privacy anymore? What's next height and weight?

DH was listening to me on the phone once and yelled out "You want her blood type too?"!! LOL ;)

BambiTamby and sm4987, I'm soooooooo glad to know I'm not the only one! :p

I imagine they are asking about names and birthdates of children because then they can verify who qualifies for a child's park pass and who doesn't. For making priority seatings this age info could also be cross referenced for character buffet meals-where children's meals are less expensive than adults. From what I recall children's price at buffets was only available to children age 3-11.

CRO - one of the reasons I use Dreams Unlimited. :teeth: I can't stress what a great service Dreams is and how wonderful the people who work there are. Even though I live close to the Mouse, any long weekend stays get booked through Dreams. It saves lots of headaches plus they will will do your Priority Seatings and other things you may need.

I totally agree! Laura from Our Lauging Place travel has handled our resort reservations and all our ps's this trip and it is wonderful!!! :) I may never book my own trip again. ;)

This sounds good, but so far they don't use this info when you make PS. The dining people ask a bunch of questions every time you call, too. No doubt they're on separate computer systems. And as for park passes, they should only need this information once you've booked, not if you're just checking rates!

Erika

I have just told CRO that I do not give that personal information out, just explain that you are only checking rates. It's not like they will not make a reservation.

I don't find that overly unusual. I have had other resort destinations ask the same questions. CRO is just doing their jobs!
