Took me awhile, but my DH has agreed to add another cat to our household. We know that we want a kitten so it will be more likely to adapt to our household, but it doesn't have to be a tiny kitten.
Two cats under the most serious consideration are a beautiful white tabby. He will be about 4 months old when he comes up for adoption (needs his shots first). He's been in a foster with other cats and children, but no dog (we have dogs), but being young he would probably adapt well to the dogs. I have no doubt that he will be adopted quickly by someone due to his striking good looks. I don't have a picture that I can post of him.
The other kitten is about 6 months old and is in a foster with cats and a dog (I don't think children). The foster mom told me that she is a nice kitten and people like her when they come visit, but haven't chosen her because most people want a younger kitten. I would say that she's the most beautiful cat, even though everyone has their opinion about what makes a beautiful cat. Here is her link--her name is Gigi. http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?ac...5b5d-app4&display=&preview=&row=0&tmpl=&stat=
In my opinion, looks are nice, but the most important thing is the personality of the cat. I also want a cat who will be comfortable in our very active household (kids in and out of the house, other cats and dogs, etc).
I haven't met either of these cats yet. I don't want to meet Gigi, have that meeting go well, and then choose not to take her. Does that make sense?
My thinking is that Gigi is not as likely to be chosen by someone else and the older she gets, the harder it will be to place her.
And don't say both cats! My DH has not agreed to that and if I were to get 2 cats I would either get the white tabby and his littermate or I'd get Gigi and another older kitten. Maybe Dennis http://www.pet-4-pets.rescuegroups.com/animals/detail.php?AnimalID=8598 , if he's still available. But, my DH has agreed to one cat.
So, HELP!
And the one my DD wants (she's in college so doesn't really get a vote) is http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?ac...1c-app3&display=&preview=1&row=50&tmpl=&stat=
