Gettin! close, Here are TSA packing tips

I haven't traveled after 9/11, and wanted to get an update on travel packing tips. The link to check out the information is:

Besides...I wanted to see my counter and how many days I have left!!!

Remember not to lock your luggage. Use cable ties instead. Also, don't overpack! Most airlines will fine you for bags over 50 pounds.

Newbycruiser - as Gillian said do not put locks on your bags, use the cable ties if you want to lock it. Make sure you put a pair of scissors/nail clippers in an outside pocket of a checked thru bag. When we flew last February for our cruise it wasn't until we got to the Radisson that we realized that they had gone through our checked bags (they left us a note in the bag) and the bag that had DH's digital camera and our video camera (yes, we are overly trusting people) they put a cable tie on it. No problem, Dh has a cool pocket knife with every tool imaginable on it - oops, it was in the locked bag along with the nail clippers. A trip to the front desk for scissors fixed the problem.

We did the same thing. We forgot and lock everything up including the scissors. But, that is what happens with five excited people. We could want to get on the ship and we tied everything.

Our luggage was searched also. Personally, I am glad there is increases security but I think it's ridiculous to go through a bag of clothes (no other items). Mom solved it...she is ziplocking everything and numbering it: 1/10, 2/10, 3/10, etc..... But if someone wants some old lady bloomers, well, I guess they will still disappear!!!!!
