Getawaytoday Ticket Confusion

So, I've bought tickets through Getawaytoday for years. They used to send physical tickets in the mail. They don't do that anymore. I bought five day parkhoppers with MaxPass for my family a month ago, and right after I got the vouchers in an email, I uploaded them into the Disneyland app and named them with our names.

Today, I was looking through the email they sent with the voucher, and it says this:
Please note that you cannot upload tickets to the Disneyland app prior to your arrival. You will need to wait until you are given the ticket upon entering the park as the number will change.

On their Website, I found this in the FAQ:

Can I upload my E-Tickets to the DISNEYLAND® App?
Your Disneyland® E-ticket allows you to go straight to the gate and is your admission ticket, however this ticket should not be linked to the Disneyland® App. Once your Disneyland® E-ticket has been scanned and collected at a turnstile, a Disneyland® Resort Cast Member Disney will then provide you with a physical ticket, which then can be scanned directly into the Disneyland® App and used for any remaining admissions.

Oops. I went to the app, and the tickets are there, and they say "5 Day Disney Parkhopper with Disney MaxPass" on each one. So I called Getawaytoday, and the woman I spoke to said that I should just tell the person at the gate that they need to delete those tickets before we use our vouchers to get physical tickets. I think this is strange advice because if I click "Delete This Ticket" under the tickets, nothing happens. And I doubt the person at the gate would want to try to make that work while all the other Magic Morning guests queued behind us wait.

I called Disneyland, and the Cast Member told me that it should be fine. She didn't seem to have any clear answers. I emailed Disneyland, and they responded that they could not answer this question, and that I should call. I guess I could keep calling, but I'm not sure how many times I want to do that.

Has anyone accidentally entered tickets with the "wrong number" into the app? Will my tickets (with the supposed wrong numbers) just be replaced (with the physical ticket numbers) if I give the person at the gate the printed vouchers to scan? I wonder if I should go to Guest Services the evening we arrive so that I don't need to worry about holding up the Magic Morning queue the next morning. Anybody have any thoughts?

My experience is that we scanned the etickets into the app and when we were handed our hard tickets the app just updated the numbers when they were scanned and linked to us.

I think this happened to us with tickets from LMT. It was no big deal and we were able to purchase MP right after going through the turnstile without any problems.

Yeah, that's what I figured. It's strange that they make such a big deal about saying, "Do not."

Thank you. I'll try not to worry about it. My main goal was just not to hold up the people behind us going into Magic Morning.

We got our tickets from Getawaytoday this summer as well. The person at the ticket booth told us to scan the barcode at the top of the voucher and add the ticket to the app. We did so and we used that to enter the first day. We were given a hard ticket as well but I didn't think to check if the numbers were different - however, we never had any problem using max pass or using the hard ticket to get fast passes at the kiosks. I never gave it a second thought and we never had any issues all week - we also had 5 day park hoppers.

Thanks! I'm glad to hear that I didn't mess up. :)

Just checking if you ended up having issues or if it was fine to link the voucher tickets to the app?

Thank you!

Past two visits I linked ticket vouchers to the app with no issues and we didn’t have to re-enter any numbers to use MaxPass.

It was totally fine to link them to the app before going to the gate. I've done it a few times now, and it's always been okay. I do bring a printed copy with me, though, just in case.

This thread just gave me severe anxiety: I already linked my tickets from Getaway and I plan on trying for a RotR boarding group on the first day...I do NOT want any problems.

What is the current experiences?

It's been a few months since I used GAT tickets (before RotR), and I'm using UT tickets next week. I hope someone has some recent GAT info for you.

I wish GAT would stop sharing this incorrect information. People ask about it here all the time because they make such a big deal about it but its totally fine to scan in the e-tickets and is expected behavior for the barcode number to change once its been activated- the app knows how to handle all that and it will seamlessly switch over. Same thing happens with e-Tickets purchased directly from Disney. It's not a bad idea to still bring printouts (or have them readily accessible in email or something) as a backup but again I'd do that regardless of where the tickets were purchased. My guess is they had someone in the past do it wrong... and that person did a bad job of communicating the issue back to them when it was just end user error anyway.

I'm also using UT Tix next week- hopefully no issues!! We're going to DCA before DL and ROTR madness so that's good at least!!
