.... it's single digit dance time Mardi Gras style!! Time to start doing a celebratory second line dance ::yes:: !

Anybody with me??? :hyper: :teeth:

:Pinkbounc :bounce: We are right behind you:sunny: Can hardly wait. Are yall driving are flying? If yall are driving do you stop for the night or try to make it in one day? We will be stopping in Tallahassee. Have a safe and wonderful trip:wave:

We'll be loading up the rental minivan to head down I-10 Friday morning. Will stop over in Tallahassee as well for the night.

Praying this week of rain won't follow us there!:sunny:

Time to get packing!

I'm ready with the rain gear!!

Joanne:umbrella:

We'll be comming via I-10 as well-- although from Houston! We leave Saturday 2/21 at 3 am. We will be 'home' by about 8ish! I hope this rain is gone and out of the weather system before we go!! See ya'll there!!!

We are right behind you too! We fly out of Lafayette on Feb. 21 at 5 a.m.:faint:

Should get to WDW around noon! Can't wait to get out of all of this rain. My 6 year old had been wishing on a star (when we can see them) for warm, sunny weather!!

Well, I am in the BR area, but won't be going until October:(
I have friends and family all going the week of Mardi Gras and I am sooooo jealous.
I have a question for those of you driving. Where in Tallahasee do you stay? We were considering driving straight through to Orlando, but I'm afraid we will be just miserable when we get there. Where do y'all stay in Tallahassee, and how long of a drive is it from there to Orlando?
Have a great time!

I wish I was going with ya'll (were in Louisiana too) But we are going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras!!!!!!!!!! But I will dance with ya!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc princess:

We are leaving Baton Rouge on Friday the 20th driving half way then continuing the next morning. Staying until the 25th. Have a brother and his family leaving from South Louisiana also on the Saturday staying until the following Saturday.

Sounds like Disney will be rocking with Cajuns!!! :jester:

Hope the weather is beautiful..if not we will just carry on like Mardi Gras has taught us to...rain or shine.

Have a great trip.

We live in Shreveport and usually drive to at least Tallahassee if we leave here by noon. We have even done it all in one day. We usually only stop if we leave after school and work (we stop in Biloxi or Mobile). You're about four hours closer and you're stopping at Tallahassee???? It's only about 10 hours total from BR. Go all the way and get there sooner.

We'll be a the Centaur parade instead of WDW this Saturday. Gemini parade the following Saturday.

Wish I was going to WDW for Mardi Gras. DH and I aren't big Mardi Gras fans anymore; we'd rather be IN a parade than AT a parade (you can only bring home so many beads, cups, and dubloons if you've done it all your life  ). But DH is playing the Mardi Gras Open (paintball) this Fri, Sat, and Sun. I'll take WDW over Mardi Gras ANY day!!!
All you fellow Louisianisans (and Texans), have a lot of Disney fun for one of your own back home!!

:wave2:

deb & bill -
Yes, I know, Orlando is within one day's driving distance - We did it two years ago on our return trip and toyed with the idea of driving straight through this time. However, with two little ones and DMIL in tow, I figure we need to take our time so we won't be exhausted or stressed before we even get there!

Tallahassee has traditionally been the halfway point for us (even when I went with my parents when it was just MK). We usually stay at one of the chains off of I-10. Thanks to advise from DIS Board members, we'll never pay rack again!!!!

I'll be listening for those familiar flat accents, cher! Looks like there will be plenty!!

Just look for the group walking around like we've had too many "hurricanes":teeth:

We'll be doin' Disney for a couple of days after we get off the Wonder...or do I say "Get down off the Wonder" ...hmmm...let me check my Cajun dictionary:jester:

The only parades I plan to see this year will have Mickey and Minnie leading the way::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

:jester:  :jester:

We'll be there !!!! Taking the DS out of school half day on Friday 02/20 and DD will cut a class at LSU  We'll fly out of New Orleans (Southwest $150 each, can't beat it).

Coming back on Wednesday (No way are we flying back in to NO on Mardi Gras!) DS will miss school that day but LSU will be on holiday.

Can't wait. This will probably be our last family vacation just us 4.

DH's accent isn't as thick as it used to be but if you hear him, you'll know !!

Can't wait to leave all this rain and misery behind. Wish we were leaving today. We are almost all packed and ready to leave.(I know we are really ahead of schedule) I guess it is because this is only our second family trip. I guess we will see all you cajuns there. Til then. :jester:

All right!! Everybody has been telling me at work how cool it is to go at Mardi Gras b/c of the Louisiana feel. I ride in Endymion so we aren't leaving until Monday...but we are driving straight through.
How crowded are the parks at Mardi Gras usually?
