Ok, I'm playing the new quest when I get to the pirate tree house and it tells us to walk the plank. Well someone was blocking the plank and no one could use it.
So I send a report message that that player is blocking. I get the message back that only the room owner can do anything about that (not true). Well that ticked me off to no end, so I write back to VMK that "VMK is the room owner".

Then ----color me surprised er make that shocked -- I get an apology from the person on the other send of the help button.

Is VMK becoming kinder and gentler? woot :lmao:
 
Last time I reported people for on purpose blocking a path, I got a message saying that I needed to go to another room .. My problem was not with the fact that they were blocking the path but that they were doing it on purpose and saying "we wont move" ..

Yeah, it's very annoying, but is stopping to report it really worth the time? Going to a different instance of Pirate Treehouse only takes a second and it makes me feel better real fast. ;)

It was not today, it was another day, but that is should be against the values to block on purpose, well now at least I know it is not >_<

Unfortunately, just because something isn't allowed in VMK doesn't mean it gets taken care of right away. I think VMK responds that way to encourage players to move on; it doesn't necessarily mean they are ignoring the situation.

Well, personally I want the person that is blocking to be removed from the game.

I know the feeling.....but what can you do? I gave up reporting player behavior long ago, since VMK seems rarely able to do anything about it at the time of the complaint. :confused3
 
A quest I was doing involved going to tiki island and picking up gems. Three kids were blocking the bridge, and kept saying vmk gave them the bridge for the day and we should go around. (they did look like trolls) lol I dislike quests and even more I dislike "going around". A few of us reported them and within 3 min in walks vmk Lion or Eagle I forget which now. He told them in no uncertain terms to move or he would move them.

Sometimes you have no choice when the rooms are filled and you wait then run across idiots like that.

I agree, take a stand, sometimes its the only way.
 
yes, for me, filling out a report is too much to me lol. Im just too lazy ;) Besides, to me it seems like tattling when your in like 1-4 grade. ROFL I rather just forget them because they are doing that in a game which is REALLY sad.
 
If they are purposely blocking it..especially during a public quest where they know people are trying to get through, I would rather report them so VMK can slowly weed out those rotten little trolls. ::yes::

All I can say, is when you decide to report, consider the day, the time, and the volume of people in the game. Based on those factors, I choose to report or not to report. I can only imagine the reports they get when volumes are high. While I don't necessarily agree with the message you received, I cannot imagine being in their shoes trying to address those reports. Most likely, it was a bad day of reporting which prompted you to get that message.
 
Hope I am not being to controversial but I look at it that you can be part of the problem or part of the solution. I report without hesitation if I feel it was warranted. There are times I get a response back I disagree with, but I dont let that get me down. I did my part, if we all ignore whats happening it will only get worse.

Unfortunately the virtual game is no different then the real world, some people will handle those reports incredibly well, and others not so much...

He started with "stop.id girl" and then went on to some more cryptic dictionary dance terms, some of which I couldn't even figure out. :confused3 But at least one of which was meant to be a particularly nasty curse word in Italian.

I clicked on him and on the report button, but when the screen popped up I realized that in order to report him I would be using the HELP button. There are all these warnings about not using that button except in emergencies, so I didn't do it because I didn't think this was actually an emergency. I thought maybe there is some other way to report? Without using the HELP button?

What should I have done? :confused:

I don't report often. Generally, I go to the main VMK page, and click on the Contact Us button at the bottom. There is an option there for "A Player is Making Me Uncomfortable". I try to have a screen print for reference and note the date, VMK time, room and instance as well as the player's exact title. This information is sent along with details of the "problem" or "situation". Then it is up to VMK to research and handle the situation.
