Get something off your chest here!!!

Men who, usually starting around their 50's make stupid jokes when they are out to servers and cashiers. Because the 19yo girl laughs they believe that means what they said was funny.

I do not want to hear about, nor will I ever give a hoot about Caitlyn Jenner.
Y A W N!!!

I find it very easy to ignore any "news" about that person. (and the rest of the K family and their associates).

You've described my father and some uncles to a T. :rotfl2:

I'm in my early 50s, and I hope I never get that way.

I save my stupid Dad jokes for DD or "wife."

I have 2 comments on this.

1) I was a server for 12 years, and I had to laugh too when they said stuff THEY thought was funny and it was the 1,000th time I'd heard the same comment/joke.

2) My DH is guilty of this, and every time he does it I tell him "they really don't want to hear it." He still does it. :(

Today I am getting this outrage over Cecil off my chest. Look, I get it, he was poached but 100's of animals are poached all the time. He didn't murder a human, people. He isn't molesting children. He is a big game hunter just like a lot of people are. Was it shady? sounds like it but I WASN'T THERE. Neither were any of these people (Jane Goodell). Look I don't have these warm, lovey, dovey feelings about animals. They aren't children, they aren't human so don't treat them like they are. It bugs the crap out of me. Don't put fuffy crap on their ears or paint their toenails because they aren't human. People are more outraged by this whole incident then they are about what their president or their government is doing on a daily basis. Perspective people, perspective.

That is all.

Yes I realize you have your reasons for not wanting ds's friend to come and feed the dog, take her out and play with her while we are gone. If you are going to insist on living your life in paranoia then you need to be the one to make other arrangements, NOT ME! I am perfectly fine having someone come here, but yet now I'm the one who has to call a bunch of family to see if they can take the dog for 1 lousy night, and if they can't then I'm not boarding. Don't get mad at me because you have to count me out of the weekend plans because I have to stay home with the dog (which at this point, I'd much rather do).

I purchased a shirt online (independent retailer who I've used before - not a household name). It was too big. Love the shirt and returned it for a smaller size. Used USPS tracking for the return. Return received earlier this month and to date, I have not received confirmation that shirt was received, new shirt on its way, my credit card is being credited, nothing.

I sent an inquiry through their website, an email and tried calling the number on the website (was told the number was not for this company). Oh! And I sent them a message via Facebook. No response.

Finally asked my cc company for a credit (disputed the charge) and they are crediting me, which is great! But I really wanted that shirt!

My wife is away on a trip with her mother and they are sending me texts and pics of the fun they're having. I wasn't able to go this time because of medical reasons and I'm home for the next several weeks with little to do because of it as well. I'm a bit jealous of the fun they're having. Yes, I am so, so thankful that they are spending such quality time together and I know they'll both remember the trip for the rest of their lives. It doesn't change the fact that I wish I could be there enjoying it with them.

Yeah, I know, first world problems and all. With the weekend coming I guess I'm a bit bummed with it all.

I get it. I have had a medical problem all summer that has had me sidelined. I love to bike and walk/jog and I have more time to do that in the summer. But my medical problems will let me waddle down the two blocks to the beach and sit there. This makes me feel like a stupid complainer. But I really planned on working hard this summer and knocking a few more lbs off.

So, that IHOP waitress doesn't really think I should do a comedy tour? Now I'm all kinds of bummed out. :(

On the plus side, I'm not in my 50's yet! :)

Awww, but it looks like you're having lots of fun here.

And I'm enjoying reading your replies, especially the snarky or witty ones. Keep it up.:thumbsup2

Thanks, and yes, this is the most active I've ever been here at the DIS and it's been a great time waster.

This is not so much of a vent as much of a sigh and 'I really want to jump for joy publicly but can't really do so and certainly not on FB where I have work-related 'friends''.

My problem-child employee, who I was getting ready to fire yesterday, announced her retirement on Tuesday, saving me the trouble of firing her. Now to wait out the time until her last day. (But in the meantime, she's still driving me crazy with her poor performance.)

Oh one more! And to the mosquito who made it look like someone hit me in the head.....I'm coming for you!!!!!!:furious:

And thanks, also, for getting my sense of humor. I was beginning to think some thought I might be serious with some of my fun posts. :)
