Walked/ran my longest distance to date this morning! 7.8 miles!!!

Gotta brag to you guys cuz the response from hubby and kids is 'why would you want to do that?' and 'eewwww, you're all sweaty'.

For how many years have I 'oohhhed' and 'ahhhhed' over every bitty accomplishment of theirs, but what do I get in return????

Some days motherhood is just a chore! :(

tried something new and went to the high school and did a track workout this morning. I've been reading about them in Runner's World for years, but haven't really attempted on before. I'm more of a slow and steady runner, not much of a sprinter. It was a lot of fun to do something different and sprinting made me feel crazy fast, even if it was in short bursts.

Updated thru hmack's post, 143. A few orange folks - already halfway to their goals. :thumbsup2 Many others getting close to the halfway point. Keep it up guys - you'll be happy come the holidays that you've started a routine that is healthy and might allow you that extra slice of pie!!!!

You did WAY more than half of a half marathon---you did do a 10k,plus more, you did 78% of a 10 miler---it's all about perspective..

Lake run / walk 60 minutes yesterday. In the rain no less! Just did the calculation... I need to get in 60 minutes each day the rest of October to make the goal this time - friends in town over the weekend really zapped my exercise time. I can do this!

I am going to "up" my goal. I wasn't sure how the race would affect me this month but I think I can bump the 1000 up to 1200 to make it a little more challenging. I also didn't know if I'd continue to do the long runs I had been doing for the race, which are easy ways to get in like 120 minutes at a time, haha!

hubby joined me today, which was so fun! 35 mins running and then I guess 25 mins of weights (I only timed the run and the whole thing... but I guess I should be able to do math, so...)


I blocked out the next four weeks of training and set some other goals:
- 90% of scheduled workouts complete (that's 3 skips)
- 5 assisted pullups (got a nifty contraption for that! right now it takes off 50# from your body weight). Currently I'm at 2.
