Don't crucify me here with this question! Can I sneak in a family of 5 with an air mattress? Is it possible? How could you possibly get caught?

They will only give you 4 room keys, and if you have the UPH ticket, only 4 tickets.....otherwise they will know.

They can ask you to leave if they find you breaking the fire codes.

Some of the rooms at AKL are made for 5. They have queen bed, set of bunks and a daybed. I think the same configuration is available at WL.

My sister had 5 in a room, with Disney's permission, however 1 of the 5 was 2 years old (along with 2 six year olds). I think if you are a family of 5 with a majority of small children, they may let you. My sister had a queen bed for her and her husband and a bunk bed for the 3 children.

Children under 3 don't count, so hulabird's example doesn't really help you. We like to do emh and e nights too much to even consider not having five room cards.

We don't need 5 room keys. Come one - has anyone ever done this? How would they find out?

As long as you're going cheap, bring a couple of bread bags. Who needs refillable mugs when you have a bread bag. Oh, and be sure to pack that crockpot, fridge, microwave and electric skillet. :wave2:

Just so you know this is going to get some heated replies.

While we haven't done it at Disney because for any length of time I think we'd be seriously cramped, lol, we have most certainly done 5 in a 4-person room for an overnight like at a Holiday Inn or Days Inn. We take sleeping bags and 2 of our 3 boys will sleep in them on the floor. They don't like sharing a bed anyway.

It is the Fire Department that says how many can be in one room. Ar the Animal Kingdom Lodge there is the Deluxe Queen Room (with Bunk Beds that can sleep 5 legally. There is a queen bed, set of bunk beds and a day bed.

At the Wilderness Lodge there is a junior suite, the bedroom may have 2 queen size beds or one king-sized bed. The sofa in the living room is a sleeper sofa.

Another option is Port Orleans Riverside with a trundle. There will be 2 double beds and a trundle bed that pulls out from under neath one of the double beds. A Trundle bed is smaller than a rollaway bed, and slides out from underneath a larger bed, they are 66 inches long and Disney advises that they are only for young children age 3-9

The cribs that WDW provides are the pack and play type play pen and not a full size crib.

If your family is on any kind of package each person over the age of 3 has to have a room key as your park admission ticket is also on your room key.

Hope this helps

I am by no means cheap! We have a 3 year old, and I was thinking I could get a twin aerobed just for him. Otherwise, we'll get a deluxe room - but they're so damn expensive! We already have our passes, and won't need five keys. I guess it's just housekeeping that could give us away. Damn!!!!

Dismom,
I know, I've thought the same thing, about just using an air mattress, but right now I'm probably figuring I'll just go with POR and the trundle beds.

I'm even considering off site (oh, the horrors!) just because I think it will cost us a fortune for a family of five on site, other than POR.

there are ways to economize on a WDW trip but this isn't one i'd recommend, the rules are there for a reason, and is risking it really worth getting caught? I could never even try to sneak in an extra adult without adding them on to the room and paying the fee, i'm just amazed that if someone could 'get away' with this they could justify it, but that's just me

if it makes you feel any better, there is NO way you could fit a twin size aerobed into a room at WL anyway. we had four people in there and i felt like we were tripping over each other, and i was terrified my child would whack her head on those four poster beds with the huge treetrunk sized posts! :earseek:

looks like you're just gonna have to go deluxe or stay off site at a cheaper hotel...there are people who say you can get really nice suites off site the same price as a WDW moderate so that may appeal to you more.

I have tried some of the Downtown Disney hotels. There is serveral hotels that will allow 5 in a hotel room. I know that offsite hotels sleeps 5 easily with no extra charge. Check some the suite hotels. There hotel rooms with will less then 100.00 dollars a night.

I would ask what is the age limit a child can sleep in the room without being count. It my be under three and never hurts to ask a question.

We have 3 children, ages 14, 11 and 3. I was hoping with bunkbeds, that we could fit a twin aerobed in there. Does anyone know if it would fit?

Go with Port Orleans Riverside. It is a beautiful resort and with codes can be about $79 a night depending on when you go. When we were there last, my son was 11 and fit just fine on the trundle. Hoping to go back there in February.

I don't know the answer to your question. And I'm one of those people that always follow the "rules", but I just want to say - gee if housekeeping is so up on how many are staying in a room how come my family of 4 never seems to get enough towels?:p :p :p

PORS is beautiful and would work. The only drawback is see is the number of people to work around in the mornings when getting ready in so small a space.
Have you not considered the Wilderness Cabins? With codes, you usually can get them for 149 a night. We, a family of 5, have enjoyed them. We liked the extra space and the kitchen. I beleive it saved us alot of money on food. It probably did not save us 70 dollars a day (which is the difference in PORS and the cabins), but the extra space was wonderful.
Either of these choices would be great.
I just prefer this to being offsite as I enjoy not having to drive.
Also, our family would often split up in the afternoons, and this would be much more difficult offsite.

Why do you keep posting the same thread? You posted the same question a little over a month ago?

Can you sneak in a 5th person (child) into the standard rooms at AKL or WL? Has anyone tried this? It's too expensive getting 2 rooms or staying in the deluxe rooms. Any thoughts - please don't bite my head off!!
