Geriatric MM Warriors!

Lisa, I am going to order the book off amazon today. Hope it's doesn't use too many technical words. But I am very interested in learning more.

That part I sent you is kind of technical since he wanted to explain the studies involved. I think you will do fine with the book. He has chapters in the back for you to show to your doctor. I find that very helpful.

I did it! I got my guy hooked up and tracking on GPS. There was just a teeny, tiny, problem. I set his inclusion zone for his house. When I had a co-worker check it for me after he left, she started laughing. Seems he lives in a duplex behind a community center. I had him restricted to the area in the POOL at the center. " In the pool, NOW Dude!" :rotfl2: She fixed it for me. But I'm relieved that part's over. Now I just make sure he stays home.

That is mighty funny! :rotfl: At least you got it straightened out.

Well I am back from the gym...besides the Cybex circuit, 2 miles and 300 calories gone on the treadmill! Hear that Laura? Pony is rockin the gym!!::yes::::yes::::yes::

So I see the general consensus is I am not the only one in Love...well I guess its better then him sending me a Dear John message!!

Lisa - I actually love that song too, it would be a great wedding song! I LOVE Aaron Neville though, and his version of "Betch By Golly Wow" has always been my idea of the perfect wedding song for me! Guess there will have to be two! Are you guys going to be dancing with me? There will have to be THREE songs, two for Ken and one for all of us together! How about " We are Family" !!!:grouphug:

Laura - I guess Disney wants us to keep it clean...DRAT, and now we cant say ****s either? Hmmm So now I have to say I lost weight in my bunglers? Well that just doesnt work for me at all! Or oobiebays? :lmao: Is that Pig Latin??

Hi everyone!!:wave2:

I was eating dinner just now while reading your posts for the day. I had chicken, broccoli..and my first sweet potato!! I had eaten about half of my half, when I got to the part where you started talking about pumpkin and squash and sweet potatoes. :upsidedow This is my first one, can't say I'm too crazy about the thing, what do you all put on them? I think Diane allows us to eat them because of the color! Looking at it put me in a good mood.:goodvibes

Robin I had to laugh at myself this morning, you reminded me... Yesterday I was so all blah like, no energy, sat here and got a few proposals done for DH. Did some research on Vit.D. Did my regular house stuff and then shifted between here and the TV. For the life of me couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. lmao! DUH! Step I again?!?! I must be entirely too close to being fully blonde! Wowza Robin, sure sounds like you have yourself one romantic fella on your hands. I'm with Lisa, when you posted that I got chills. :cloud9: You're one lucky lady! My DH wouldn't know romantic if it slugged him upside the head. Do you blulk up easily? I'm nearly afraid to get my gym membership going. My legs look like I could be Miss Hulk. I don't like bulk on me and that seems to be all I get.

Lisa, I'm really curious about what's going on with your roof. DH has been doing roofs for well over 30 yrs. I missed what was going on with yours'. I'd be very interested hearing about it. Lisa was it you that said you're taking extra Vit. D? I bought some today and was very surprised that I couldn't get it in less than 1000IU's doses. I'd love to know how much to take but I'm not finding any recommendations on it.

Nell, I'm so sorry to hear about your DH. Anything I or we can do to help, please let us know.
I'm sure you all are being missed over on the new MM boards. You're so good with words Nell, you'll come up with the perfect response.

Barb, that tea sounds amazing. I wonder where I could find it, I'm so sick of having just water. Does your SIL have arthritis bad? I started getting it my hands a couple years ago. I believe it was on the Realage site that I read that 1200mgs of calcium, 400IU of E, and 1000mgs of C daily will stop it in it's tracks if caught early enough. I tried it and within months it completely stopped it's progression. I still have a tiny bit of distortion from it in my fingers but I'm thrilled with the results I got from taking the suppliments.

Pam: We love baked sweet pots with just Smart Balance (butter). It's not my roof, it's the house I sold for my MIL's estate (my husband is her trustee) when we moved her into the assisted living. She has dementia. The roof is failing (it's sagging) and the roofer has no insurance or workmen's comp now so the new owner won't let them fix it (stand behind their warranty). We could be sued - I as the realtor and my MIL as the seller - so rather than go through that we will probably pay to get it fixed again for the lady as long as she releases us from further liability. Disclosure is the letter of the law in CA and courts rule in favor of buyers most of the time. My husband of course disclosed that there was a new roof, but they are saying the sagging was a pre-condition. Plug your ears, Kate - lawyers go after the deep pockets of brokers so I would be named for sure. It's a mess. I would look on Dr. Oz's website about the vitamin D. It's just about all he talks about! We take glucosamine every day for joints also.

StWill posted:: Where is everyone? Pony, lisa, Nell to name a few.

Ah! I see now. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I agree it would be in your best interest to just fix it. That full disclosure rule applies here as well. I couldn't count the number of times DH has been called by realitors to inspect properties for just that reason, that's my busy day work, typing up inspections and proposals. It seems everytime I end a convo with one of them they say, better safe than sorry.

I will check the Realage site one more time for the actual dosage, if I can't find it I'll be calling my doc in the morning. I started taking the Bi-Flex the same night DH started it. Thanks!!

Hi Pam! I do tend to bulk up easily, as I was a competetive bodybuilder back in the good old days! I actually had to meet with the trainer at my new gym to discuss how to go about using weights in a lighter manner and with weight loss in mind. I still have good strength and muscle under all the flab, so he has me doing ALOT of cardio, plus circuit training with pretty light weight on the Cybex machines. Instead of doing the single circuit, I do light weight and 3 sets of 12-14 reps per machine....it seems weird to me not to be adding heavier weights, but he assures me this is the path to helping shed the chub!! I cant wait to get rid of some layers so I can see the old me underneath! I have a feeling I will be going back to the heavier lifting next summer, as I really didnt realize how much I had missed it! When I retired from the police dept. I just kind of didnt do it anymore...DUMB.

Do you guys think we should invite stwill over here? I kind of feel bad leaving her over there without us? Just dont want to let on that we are here, so we wont have a mass exodus over here....OMG that sounds horrible, I cant believe I said that, but its TRUE, I want to preserve the peace we have found here.

Pam - I jumped over to the new forum and read all the threads...looked like there were No new posts on the Welcome from GL thread since yesterday, and I sure didnt see any mention of any of us on any of the other threads...what is the daily chatter and am I missing a thread somewhere?

I guess I missed all the drama; must be because I don't get to read but every few days. I am sorry that issues, conflict and hidden agendas entered into our nice group but I am very glad we have all found a nice neutral place to yack :)

I thought about her, too. I don't know - you could always PM her. They will get over us fairly quickly on the other site. I'm with you about the peace.:cloud9:

Pony: I found where they are talking about us and it isn't flattering. It's on Georgia Lee's new daily post. She proclaimed for all to see that we 'got ticked off at her and started our own forum'. She's a real diplomat, huh? Sorry, Pam, no way am I getting back into that mess. Kitchwitch chimed in with what could they be ticked off at you about, etc. I'm not going to set myself up for high blood pressure over there. A person who had been posting for one whole day even had something to say about us.
