Lisa - Love that 'prayer', so true!! :)

I'm feeling a little better today. I went to see Vinnie yesterday and we had such a good time together. We did a lot of laughing. I guess we were both in silly moods at the same time! :rotfl:

Kate - I'm glad the girls got home safely. I hope your heat gets fixed soon.
I'm wondering how you're doing on the HCG program too.

Hello everyone!!:wave2:

Lisa, loved that "prayer" about the bank account and body size!!:lmao:

Kate, I was going to ask if anyone had been in touch with Robin. I haven't noticed her posting on FB either....but I guess that doesn't mean much, I read but never post there either. :confused3 I really hope she's okay and is just busy.
I'll be 53 in May, wasn't '76 the coolest year to graduate in? So glad the girls returned safely from their trip, I'm betting they had a really good time.

Lisa, good advice about meditation in the tub! Since Millie and Chris took over our new master suite, I don't have access to my new jacuzzi tub and I really, really miss it. Nothing in the world like a good long soak with the jets on low with lavender to relax and clear the mind before bed. ::sigh:: After reading all your posts about these authors, it looks like I need to take some time and browse our Barns and Noble and see what you all are talking about.
Are you sure your cold hasn't turned into a secondary infection like bronchitis? So nice of you to relay posts to Jocelyn, great idea! Jocelyn, so glad for you that your leg is healed! And I remain envious of your travels!

We won't know the sex of Abbies twins until close to the end of March. She's had her boys by c-section so they always do a ultrasound at her first prenatal appointment for a more exact due date. She's twelve weeks and it's just too soon to tell. It's going to seem like forever until the end of March!! All fingers crossed for girls! Woohoo!:yay:

DH is home safe and sound from his trip. Our son ended up picking him up in Chicago Friday morning. He's just now starting to talk about his mothers services and burial, who was there, where everyone slept, how everyone brought in food..etc. He's sad, no doubt about that. I asked him if he thought her passing would change his plans for returning and finishing the house. I only got a shrug out of him on that one. I think, given time, he will find he wants to return... I hope anyway.

Diane, sorry to hear that your cold is giving you such a hard time, I hope you feel better soon! Take care of yourself.

I don't know why I'm weighing, but I'm down another 2lbs. Good thing, I'm needing all the motivation I can at this point! I wish I were brain dead when it comes to food!!

Okay, I think that's it for now, we're sitting right in the middle of a front that's suppose bring rain, ice, then end up with snow, all in about an eight hour span....is it June yet!?!

Oopsie! I just saw Robin's posts on facebook! I haven't been online for a couple of days and missed it! Robin, good to see you're posting, how are you? Wasn't your new job suppose to start this month?

Pam - 53 in April! Yes, '76 was a great year to graduate!

I just started HCG today. I will keep you posted.

Robin didn't post much on FB. I do hope she is okay....

Oh, you guys are babies. I will be 55 (gulp) in about 3 weeks. Can I get a senior discount at Ross, Kate? Then I'm in. I graduated in 73 because I skipped a grade.

Tom had a rough weekend with his digestive system. The machine broke at radiation so he got an extra two days off. Good and bad because they just tag it on to the end so we're finished later than we thought. Runs right into my birthday. Tom says it's good to delay my birthday because I'll stay young longer. :lmao:

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all safe, happy and healthy.

We're expecting more snow tonight....another 5-7 inches. Yeesh.
My cold is finally winding down. My tissue usage is way down. :woohoo:

I got my hair cut & colored at a new salon. I really like it and I am happy that it is close to my house. The place I've been going to for the last couple of years was close to my old job. The last time I went there in December I really didn't like the cut.

I'm still sending my resume out and hearing crickets. I hope something happens soon. Suzie Orman said on her show that in this economy it is taking 1 to 2 years to find a job. I'm going on 2 years, so hopefully soon this will be coming to an end and I'll be lucky enough to get a job.

I hope Tom is feeling better today.

Class of '77 anyone?

Tom is doing pretty well today. Up most of the night with a grumbly tummy, but nothing serious. We're having a really warm, gorgeous day today and he's puttering around outside after walking Bonnie, so it's a good start. It seems the 3rd day hits him the hardest so we'll see how he does tomorrow. He was able to eat Mom's soup last night and enjoyed two natural ginger ales. We find ginger to be very soothing and I bought several ginger items - tea, ale, snaps and crystalized ginger, which he keeps with him all the time. Chews a piece if he gets nauseated.

Diane, I am absolutely sure this is your year - and early in the year!:cheer2:
Would love to see a pic of your new 'do'!

I'm sending Jocelyn our posts so keep 'em coming!

Lisa - I took a picture of myself with my phone. It's kinda dark, but that's okay with me. :rotfl:

HCG update. This is day 5 of injections. The first two days I was supposed to eat normally. Then starts the very low cal diet. This is day three of very low cal. I made it through the first two - I wouldn't say terrible but I wouldn't say great either. Last night was out-to-dinner with my mom, her partner and my girls and then to the ballet. I probably ate more cals that I should have but I stuck with salad and fish. Basically, I did the best I could given the menu. I am weighing every day and down 2.6 from the first day. Not surprising considering how low cal the diet is. I meet with my doctor again on Tuesday. Lisa - the injections are a piece of cake. The needles are the very fine, small ones used by diabetics for insulin. You just grab some fat in your abdomen area, poke, and inject. You literally don't feel a thing. My doctor's list of foods is a little more extensive than the traditional HCG diet. For example, you can have 6 oz of non-fat yogurt. So, my breakfast has been six ounces of Fage non-fat yogurt (which I LOVE) and some frozen berries - I heat the berries in the microwave and add to yogurt. I have also been including the "miracle noodles" in my meat and veggies for lunch and dinner. I used the chicken/turkey sausages from Trader Joes (one sausage is allowed per meal), sliced them up and sauteed. Then I added a package of Trader Joe's broccolli slaw, a little arugula and a little marinara sauce (no sugar added kind). I divided it up into the allowed portions per meal and then added a package of miracle noodles to each one. The miracle noodles don't have any flavor - they just take on the flavor of what they are with. Tastes delish to me (well, card board can look pretty good when you are hungry). My doc says that the hunger part should go away by today - I will let you know whether she was fibbing or not. She took my measurements on the first day. Ideally, one of the benefits of this diet is that you actually lose fat where you have fat. Can you say Goodbye Tummy and Goodbye Backfat! Whoo Hoo! I am reminding myself of my trip to Hawaii in April and my wedding in September.....

More to come!

Hugs to all!

Diane: You look so cute from what I can see! Have Owen or Vinnie take a brighter one for us:cool2:

Kate: I was hoping you'd say that about the injections! I am a needle phobe. Do let us know if the hunger goes away. I don't understand how the HCG works exactly as far as why the diet has to be so low cal. Seems like you'd lose a lot of weight anyway with such a diet. Does the HCG keep you from losing muscle? That would make a difference for sure. I bet you will be gorgeous at your wedding. Is the wedding still going to be in Hawaii? Can't wait to hear more!

We went for a walk this morning. Tom got nauseated on the way back and almost threw up but he's better now. I think we'll stick close to home today.

Kathy - how are the pups? I want the little one! The one with the red collar.

xoxoxxoxo

The pups are doing well. We only have 3 left to rehome to their forever homes. They are all fawns.
"Red" has a very special place in my heart. It is almost like she has touched my soul. I love "Behemoth" but she is my sweetheart. She is the runt, but not small at all. She is a healthy approximate 12#. She has no problem being on her own, just watching the others play, but she also doesn't take any crap LOL. She can usually be found right in the thick of things!
When I call "come" she will drop whatever she's doing and come, with her cute little stub wagging a million miles an hour.
I need to post some pics on here for Diane to "meet" them. I keep forgetting she's not on FB.

I am so glad the girls got home ok. Thank God they ran into that couple. Just kind of shows, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Also, when you buy one tire, you really should change the opposite one, so they will wear evenly. ;)
Sometimes if you just buy the one, it will cause the other to wear unevenly and you'll end up buying a new one anyway, and also could cause a wreck if it blows out.

Copied this from a Facebook friend - hysterical!

Dear God:

For 2011, all I ask for is a big fat bank account and a slim body.

Please do not mix up the two like you did last year.
:lmao:

Lisa, thanks for the laugh today!! I think I'll be putting that quote on my fridge. I can have a chuckle every day!!

Diane, glad you got to treat yourself a bit. Nothing makes you feel pampered like getting your hair done.
I get mine done at this lady who does it out of her house. She is really cheap (a coloring, highlighting and cut cost me $50). My usual color/trim is around $30. She lives about 10-15 minutes from my house, but I go past Tristan's house to get there, so I get to visit with her.
This lady is soo busy. If you don't do a reschedule, it will take a good month or more to get an appt.

I hope your cold is completely gone by now. There is so much sickness going around here, it's just plain nuts. I keep putting sanitizer on my hands, and even putting it on my nose and such in case I got germs on my face. :(

Kathy: You can spray the essential oil of peppermint a few drops in water in the air around your face to sanitize it. Puppies sound soooo cute!

We are back in Honolulu for a day so we came home to have unlimited internet.

Lisa was going to try to forward each note, but the file got too big and I couldn't download it. The internet seems to be slower this year than in previous years on the same ship.

There will be ports where I can use unlimited internet and will see what I can do at that time. Until then, know that I will be thinking of all of you.

I am faced with unlimited food, but the selections are so good that we really have no reason to say we don't have the proper food to eat. We are definitely avoiding bread and such starches. The fruit though, is so good that I have been eating a few strawberries each morning with my cottage cheese.

Kate - good luck with your shots. There is a huge community on LCF's. I know that is not our favorite site, but there are a lot of posts there about it.

We are getting to play bridge everyday if we wish. We are traveling with the people who taught me to play bridge - so more great lessons are also offered daily.

Kathy - we have the game on. It looks like your team is doing well so far. Our friends are from Chicago area so were disappointed with the early game.

May all our bank accounts grow and our bodies shrink!!!

Hugs to all of you.:grouphug:

Well, if we shrink our bodies with HCG, our bank accounts might dwindle, too, but it just might be worth it!:lmao:

Pam - 53 in April! Yes, '76 was a great year to graduate!

I just started HCG today. I will keep you posted.

Robin didn't post much on FB. I do hope she is okay....

Dr. Oz was talking about HCG today. I didn't get to hear it all though :(

I'm still here guys. The computer acts up once in a while, so when I start posting, and stop all of a sudden, it's acting up and I can't get it to do anything!

Not much going on here. I am going to take an epsom salt bath in a bit and do some thinking and relaxing. I have been battling hives since Sat. I can't figure out what I'm doing that is different. Thankfully I've been able to keep it to a minimal outbreak. I haven't gotten them for about 5 years, but got them all the time when I was younger. Usually ended up in the ER with a couple of shots of Atarax to the butt.

Jocelyn, I watched the game last night. It was GREAT!! Now I'm thinking of the Super Bowl and what to have to munch on while I watch it LOL.

Lisa, sorry to hear Tom is having a hard time lately. I still pray daily for you guys. I still have your Christmas card out (on my desk) and every time I see it, I send a prayer up to God.

Diane, hope you're holding out with all the snow and cold. Heard on the weather, we have snow coming again. Not sure how much though. I am ready for Spring!! I love the snow, just not the cold :(
I'm also sending prayers up for your job hunting. I know Mike was unemployed for almost 2 years. I heard on the tv or read somewhere that they said the average amount of time for being on umemployment is about 2 years.

I was Oprah's new network last Sunday. She had Dr. Phil, Suzie Orman and Dr. Oz on. I really never cared for Dr. Phil, but watched anyway. here was a couple on there that asked him about arguing all the time. They always argue over little things, like Mike and I do, which I guess we're normal then LOL. Anyway, he said they must be getting some type of payoff from it, or they wouldn't do it. Kind of got me thinking. Everything we do, we get a payoff for it. Arguing, eating, anything. Now, we just need to figure out if the payoff is positive or negative.
This has me really thinking. My eating habits are getting some type of payoff. I want to be slim and healthy, but there is a reason that I eat the way I do and don't change it. I just need to figure out what that payoff is.
I think my payoff is to keep people at arm's length. If I don't let them into my heart, I won't get hurt. My ex had emotionally abused me our whole marriage. I think in my mind's eye, I am what he said I was. Even when I lost all the weight and was wearing a size 6/8, I pictured myself as a heavy person. I was never really thin or healthy, even as a child.
I need to work on my self-esteem issues. I never really thought I was "good enough", "pretty enough", you know all those feelings.
I just need to find what works for me. It could be part MM, and part something else. I just need to find a "click".

Ok, enough rambling. I'm going to post a few pictures of the pups for those of you that don't get on FB can see them :D

Love and hugs to you all
