Here is an email I got from Jocelyn:
We finally made it to the Taj Mahal. What a beautiful monument! We spent 4 days in India. It was quite interesting to see so much of it, but not sure we would want to do it again.
We are now on our way to the Maldives. We haven't been there before so a new spot for us. We understand they are beautiful, but will probably be a lot like Hawaii.
We just started the sixth leg of our journey with one more to go after this one. The time has really flown by. The weather and the seas continue to behave. The temperatures are quite hot in this part of the world, but we seem to be able to handle them. I spend quite a bit of time in the pool.
Vanna White was a guest lecturer on this past leg. She is a delightful lady and was very friendly to everyone on the ship. She is not very big at all and works out all the time to stay that way!!
We continue to play a lot of bridge - have our good days and our down days. The past president of ACBL is on this leg. He only has 35,000+ points!! Our friend Jeff who runs the bridge program on the ship has played some team games with him. Jeff is not sure whether the fellow will play any bridge or not. It will be interesting if we get to play against him.
We hope everyone is fine.
Love and Aloha,
Bob and Jocelyn
Sounds like they are having a most lovely time. I'm so relieved to hear they are fine and were out of the way of the tsunami, apparantly.
We had our trip to the oncologist at UCSF today. Very long day and not much to report. There are lymph nodes in Tom's right groin that light up on the scan, as I told you, but they are not very big. They could be 'angry' because of the infection and/or the radiation so the plan is to wait two months, do another scan and see if they have changed in size. If they grow, there will be a biopsy. He gave us referrals for support groups and for compression garment for Tom's poor leg, which is very swollen. I think he'll be fine as soon as he can go back to the massage therapist. He's been waiting for the incision to heal up and it's almost there now.
Diane, I am mulling over the situation with the car dealership woman not calling. I would lean toward mailing a note or dropping off a note in their mail slot to her attention. I would say that I'm sure she is very busy and wouldn't purposely not call you since you know that was her intention unless something got in the way so you just want to let her know you are very interested in the position and are awaiting her call one way or the other. I'm afraid if you tell the owner and something really did get in her way, you've burned your bridges, so to speak. Please try not to be depressed. Have you thought of a temp agency? I know several people who ended up meeting their full time employers by first temping for them. It's a great way to get your toe into businesses and see how you like them, as well. Just a thought.
I have to work tonight so will say good night for now. Kathy: I'm not too excited about Step 1 because of no fruit. I'm going to stick with Dr. Perricone as closely as I can and see if I can get my results again with his program. My doctor was thrilled with my blood pressure yesterday, which never has been high, but still it's really good. 106/68. Maybe I'm hibernating, lol! And I really didn't gain but maybe 5 lbs. if that so I guess I just feel fatter. I'm fatter than I want to be, that's for sure!
