Geriatric MM Warriors June 13, 2010

Kate: Welcome home! So glad you had such a great time. I knew you would! I adore your engagement ring! It's perfect.:goodvibes

Knock 'em dead tomorrow, Diane!

Hope everyone in the tornado areas is ok. It would be great to hear from Robin. A tornado went through Virginia somewhere??

Kate - Holy smokes! Nice rock!! It is absolutely beautiful.
I'm glad you had a nice bachelorette party in Hawaii! :lmao: Mmm, dark chocolate macadamia nuts - yum.

I went on the second interview today. I think it went well. The HR person said she would contact me by Friday, even if it's to say that the manager hasn't made up his mind yet. So, more waiting.

Hi Lisa, Pam, Kathy, Beverly & Robin! I hope you all are safe & sound.

Time for bed - there's 1/2 a unisom with my name on it. ;)
Talk to you all tomorrow!
xo

Tom had a really nice birthday brunch with 2 other couples on Sunday. He had a massage afterward to try to reduce the edema in his poor leg. It was much better, but after working one day, it had returned to a large degree. He's going again tomorrow night before our trip. We're going to try to pack tonight since we both have busy days tomorrow.

We'll be gone til Monday night but I'm taking my computer so I'll check in. Holding great thoughts for Diane and everyone else!

Can't wait to get on the road and see the wildflowers on the way!

Did I tell you J-P ordered the new ipad for his Dad with video chat? He got himself one too so they can talk to each other;) We all chipped in on the gift. Tom will be floored.:wizard:That's Tom in is birthday hat.

Lisa - Happy Birthday to Tom! What a great present - I want an ipad too! That is so nice that Tom will be able to chat with J-P. I assume that Tom will let you peek over his shoulder and say Hi. :)

Diane - I am soooooo sending the "you got the job" vibe your way!

Hi guys! Been trying to log in forever, and it wouldn't let me!! Ugggg. Finally got it straightened out. This will be a short post as I have to head out to work asap.
Diane, I so hope you get that call!! It would be the best Easter present ever!!
Kate, if you get tired of holding that rock on your finger, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands LOL. It is a beautiful ring!
Lisa, so glad Tom enjoyed his birthday. I am thinking I'd love an ipad. I am in need of a new laptop, so we'll see ;)
Not much going on here. Stormy weather (and the tornados that go with them) but today was warmer.
I am on dau 4 of step 1. It's going well. My stomach hasn't started to deflate yet. I've been on the MM site on FB. She is putting up a new forum which will have live chats and such. I'll try to link the FB message. The new forum will be up tomorrow. I'll post that link as well in case we have any questions.
$got to go for now. Have a great evening everyone!!

Hi everyone!

Well, I didn't get the job. The HR woman called and said it was a hard decision, blah, blah, blah. Dam.

I did get a call from an agency yesterday. They had called my friend (who is going to court reporter school now and has stopped looking for work) and she referred me to them. I have an appt. with them on Tuesday. She said they have been in business for 30 yrs. and these past 2 years have been the worst. Tell me about it.

So the search continues. Thanks for all the good thoughts! I know something will come along soon.

Diane, I am so sorry they didn't give you the job. Keeping fingers and toes crossed for the next one :)

Hi Everyone!
Danger, danger - there are jellybeans in my house!! :rotfl:

I'm all set for Easter. I'm going to my nephew's house. I went to Kohl's and did really well buying little toys for all of the famiy's grandkids. Everything was on sale and I had a coupon. The oldest boy is 12, so I got him a colorful nalgene bottle for water - I put it in a cellophane Easter bag & added candy. It looks cute. I got all 8 kids something, Owen a shirt, my niece a frame, gift bag, tissue and a card for her engagement and myself a bra - all for $63! Geez - I love Kohl's! It's not like Macy's where the coupons sometimes don't apply.

Today it's raining like crazy. Tomorrow it's supposed to be cloudy with showers. I know my nephew must be disappointed. At the end of last summer he had a tiered stone patio put in and tomorrow is the first time we'll all be there together to enjoy it. Hopefully it won't be a washout.

I hope everyone has a peaceful and happy Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

We're having fun at my sister's cookin' up Tom's birthday dinner of famous Italian food of my BIL's grandmother's recipes. Beach yesterday and Easter baskets tomorrow!

Love you all!

Diane: You are so sweet to get such cute and creative gifts for all of the kids in the family. Tom got a water bottle that has a built in filter from my sister. He's going to really love it, I'm sure. We have a water filter at home but it's going to be great to purify water on the go. She also filled it with candy;)

I put bright green kitchen implements in J-P's basket, along with a little candy and a Mexican cookbook. He's getting interested in cooking.

It's drizzling today. We're having a basket hunt in the house and coloring eggs for later. Nephew's girlfriend's family is coming over too. Should be fun, but the weather could be better. Hopefully we can go to the beach again tomorrow.

I bought a new Mac before we came up here. J-P spent a whole day setting it all up for me. I love it! We have a program with our credit union and Tom's work because they want employees to be computer literate. We get to pay for it interest free for 3 years through payroll deduction. Paid off J-P's last one recently so it was my turn to upgrade.:woohoo: I'm having fun playing around with it. Photos are especially beautiful.

Have a wonderful Easter all! Love you!

Happy Easter!

Lisa - was Tom's birthday yesterday? Demi and I had our birthdays on Friday (4/22).

Happy Easter!

Lisa - was Tom's birthday yesterday? Demi and I had our birthdays on Friday (4/22).

Tom's birthday was the 17th, but my sister was on a business trip so we pushed the gathering forward to the next weekend, which happened to be Easter! We had a great time.

Happy Birthday to you and Demi!party:

Spring has officially arrived in San Rafael! Yahoo! :dance3: I hope everyone had a nice Easter.

Kathy - how are those pups? Remind me. Did you keep more than one?

Okay. Does anyone hear from Robin? She doesn't post on FB either? I worry when we don't hear from people?

Hi everyone!
I hope Robin is well and busy with her new job. I wish she would stop in and say 'hi'.

I had an interview with a church on Tuesday and they just called and invited me back to meet with the priest on May 5th. It doesn't pay very well - 25% less than I used to make. But it's more than I have now! I have to think about it as temporary, maybe a year or two. I'll still have to rely on my retirement funds. Look at me, I'm thinking about it like I already got the job. I will keep you posted.

It was so hot here the past two days. This morning it's back to regular spring weather.

Diane: I hope you get the job! Can't wait to hear about the meeting with the priest.

Just getting back to work with my new computer, which of course is always frustrating. It doesn't want to talk to my printer or ipod. Lovely.:surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!

Hi All!
It is absolutely beautiful outside today! I'm going to my niece's baby's 1st birthday party today. It should be nice. I hope they have a tent outside like they did for their son's 1st party last year. The kids are 11 mos. apart - so they're both 1 for awhile. :)

Hope you are all well and stop in to say hello.

Diane: Sweet one-year olds! Hope the party was lovely and that they took a lot of pictures. We got some of my sister's albums out this week. It was really fun for Caleb's girlfriend to see his baby pictures. Seems like yesterday...

We had a very productive weekend and the weather was gorgeous! Windy yesterday, but today was picture perfect. I cleaned the refrigerator out yesterday and some of the house, along with ironing the clothes from the trip. :laundy:some cleaning to catch up on but today was all about being outside. We really accomplished a lot of important tasks. We went around and documented where all of the 12 watering stations go to and where all the valves are. Started because we thought something wasn't watering. Turned out we needed a new battery in the timer box. Who knew! I'm sort of pretending that we are selling the house when Tom retires so we need all this information for the new owners. He knows he's setting me up to be taken care of if he isn't here to see to these things in the future. In an odd way it makes us both feel somewhat comforted to take action just in case.

Hot tub tonight after Amazing Race sounds amazing in itself!

Listing a new property at the first of the week so I'll be a bit busy for a few days. Hope all of you are well and looking forward to hearing from Jocelyn soon.
:grouphug:

Good morning ladies. I hope all is well with you all. Been extra busy, shopping for the baby (Tris is doing well), working, trying to get yard work done and the such.
We've been having some violent weather this past week. Today is just raining though. I am so sick of rain and muddy paws.

Went to some garage sales. Got a few onesies, a training chair, a booster chair that is a small high chair, and a motorized swing. This will be things that stay at Grandma's house. This way Tris won't have to drag much back and forth when they visit or when the baby stays here. Trying to find some higher ticket items for the baby 2nd hand so they won't cost so much.
Looking for a play and pack, which is a play pen that has a removable bed for newborns, which retail around $75 and up. I am also looking for a high chair, hopefully a wooden one. I know Babies R Us carries them, but not sure how much. Mom, Carrie and I may put our money together and get her one. We will be having her shower in Aug sometime. Oct. will be here before I know it and so much I want to get done before hand!

Lisa, I hope you and Tom are doing well. I still think of you guys quite often. Still sending prayers as well. Can never have too many of those ;)

Diane, good luck with the meeting with the preacher! I know it's less than what you need, but hopefully God will see you through this. I know what you mean about getting into retirement. Mike and I are getting to a point where things are just coming to a head. With 4 vehicles going down at once, it really drained us to say the least. His cousin owns a garage, and he does our car work. Thankfully he let Mike help out at the garage a few days to help off set the cost of fixing the truck. We were already about $1200 into fixing it. He is a really nice guy, thankfully.

Kate, we actually ended up keeping an extra puppy. So we have 2 puppies now. Behemoth (aka: Sir Atlas Baer Deabenderfer) and Buster (aka: Sir Buster Brown Deabenderfer). They are getting huge! The will be 6 months on May 11th, and they are almost as tall as Tyson and weigh a little more than 40#! And they are 40# of pure muscles!! We finally got a temporary fence put up, so they are able to go outside and run and play all day if they want. On Easter they managed to get out of the fence. Thankfully they were up at the neighbor's yard, and I saw them right away. Managed to get them in the house. They had to go the whole way around the yard to get to the front door as all the other doors are inside the fence. LOL.

Ok, going to get ready for work now. Have a great day everyone!!
