Geriatric mm warriors (12/30/09)

Our vita-mix blender came today. I made a yummy apple, pineapple, blueberry and pear smoothie for my hubby. For lunch I had an edemamme pita sandwich and made a green vegetable juice (tomato, spinach, onion, celery, worchestershire sauce and a dab of hot sauce). It was delish!!

When my 14 year old came home he was so excited. He made pear sorbet in it. Love this thing!!!

How would I find one say in the yellow pages or online? Would I look under alternative medicine?

As for the dry brushing, I have a boar's hair brush that is never used. Would that work? I also have a small loofah (small round one) for your face that I was using to itch Mike's back when it gets itchy. Would something like that work better? I know your skin needs to breath also, and if I remember right, that's why you dry brush. Am I thinking right? LOL

I wish I could post a pic. I'll send you one in your email. It's a natural bristle brush. I found my therapist online searching for hydrotherapy in buffalo.

That smoothie sounds great!! I have been deemed fit to have dairy and fruit! He said yesterday that he couldn't find yeast at all in me. I am not doing the dairy but I am sooo hungry for fresh pineapple! Maybe sometime tomorrow I'll get some. Not a lot though.:thumbsup2

Thanks again Cindy. I am so glad I found someone that can fill me in on all of this. And thanks to everyone else for putting up with all this info LOL.
I'll be looking out for it.
May head to bed for now. Have to help with the moving tomorrow, so I need to be at my best. 10:20 pm, and I'm still up with no nap today. Could this be the beginning of my feeling great? I sure do hope so!!

I wanted to say good night to you all. Thank you again for being such good sports on tonight's main topic LOL. It has helped me understand it a bit more, and hopefully informed some of you on it as well.
I'll try to stop in tomorrow before we leave to help with the move.
Sweet dreams everyone. Love you all and God Bless.

:grouphug:

Cindy: Your juices sound fantastic! I'm so glad you and Kathy are feeling so much more energetic. We are so poisoned by all the chemicals in our food, water and environment - cleansing makes a lot of sense.

Robin: I took those chapters not to my appt. with my doc, but by his office with a letter and asked him to read them at his leisure. He called me within two days in total agreement. Dr. Teiltelbaum has been working on this information and with patients like us for 15 years and has gathered research from all over the world - and it's not what they teach them in medical school! His website will give you resources in case there is a doctor more like-minded in your area. Worth a look?:confused3

Kathy: At least you finally found a way to enjoy your coffee black!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lmao: Never thought of that!!!:lmao:
I know doing them is supposed to help you lose weight also, but I weighed myself this morning, and I'm down 8 pound! I weighed yesterday at 169, and today I weighed 161! I know the scale goes up and down, but that is even with me adding in the carbs. Yesterday I had the oatmeal for breakfast, 1/2 a Wendy's chicken ceasar salad, then around 5:30 had some more oatmeal. At around 9 I was hungry so I had some whole wheat noodles cooked in chicken broth. Didn't measure those out. Found them in the frige LOL. I may have found my happy medium perhaps!!

Kathy - we're the same on the scale. I had my thyroid checked too but it was completely fine (thinking that's why I wasn't losing weight unless I was only drinking liquids). I do coffee enemas at least once a month. They are fantastic and make you feel so much better!!! Did they tell you about colonics hydrotherapy too lol :) Cleans you out even more! Talk about TMI!!:scared1:!

Hope you are having a nice morning!

I have talked about my Graves Disease (autoimmune - overactive thryoid). I have done lots of research on thyroid issues. It isn't so much that the tests are inaccurate. It is that most doctors don't order the rights tests. And many doctors, even if they order the rights test, they are not current on what is considered "normal" (the latest research shows that what used to be considered "normal" would now be considered hypothyroid).

Kate: You said it better. That's what I meant about inaccurate. What I really meant was that the doctors aren't informed on how to read the test results according to the current research. They also don't always test for T3 AND T4 functions.

Can you give Robin some of your extra thyroid??

I know my doctor orders for the T3 and T4 but he always says they are normal. Is there something different he needs to test for reguarding the function of them?
Got done moving her stuff just before it starting raining hard. What a muddy sloshy mess :(
I'm ready to take a hot shower and put on jammies. But have to run to the store first.

What should I have them check Kate?

Well happy Saturday, looks like everyone but me has something exciting to do instead of posting! LOL, I have been here all day and the last 3 hours our entire national phone system and computer systems have been down...not exactly good for business! I have cleaned my desk out (OMG, YUK), cleared out some old files, (where did I get all this junk?) and drank enough coffee to float a boat...geez, I guess I should have saved some for the whoohoo! :lmao:

They are working on letting us all go home in 30 minutes, so that would be good...cant wait to go home and find something to do! Have another date to go on tomorrow, a friend of a friend who I have met a couple times...didnt know he was single and he thought the same about me, so we shall see how this one goes...I have to admit my heart is really not into dating! LOL, maybe I can just advertise somewhere for a Sugar Daddy to pay my bills, take care of the ponies, do the yard and farm work, and then go home to his own house! :rotfl2: Guess I would need a magic wand for that one!:wizard:

I better go before I get silly and use every smilie we have...hope y'all have a great weekend, and I will chat on Monday. Gotta get ready for my two weeks with Jorge!

Robin: You haven't said much about any dates or communication from Ken lately.

Cindy: They should test for both T3 andd T4 and not necessarily tell you it's normal if it's under 3.0. I think I still have Dr. Teitelbaum's text in my computer so I'll email you the pages.

Cindy: 3 emails are coming to you with the pages from my gmail account, which let's me send larger documents. My username is the same as it is here. Check your spam if you don't see it in your inbox. Hope it's helpful.

Hi guys!! I logged in and saw they were once again updating. I hope it doesn't screw Robin up anymore than it already has. Maybe we need to figure something else out so she can post from home also? Just throwing it out there.

I found a great site if anyone is interested. It is extremely informative reguarding health issues. It is forum type. Here is the site if you're interested:

Feeling wiped out this morning. Not a good night sleep either. I think I over did it a bit with the moving. I didn't do a lot, but did help. Feeling a bit of congestion in my chest. I refuse to get Mike's cold!! I am going to gargle some grapefruit seed extract in water instead of taking it in my V8. They say if you gargle 3 drops in 6 oz of water then swallow it, it will help stop you from getting sick. Worth a try. If I get sick, no work. I don't want risk getting the husband sick. He's the one with the cancer.

Lisa, is it as bad as I am thinking if he had I believe colon cancer. They did surgery, and he now wears a bag for feces elimination. He is on cancer drugs and treatments. Not sure what kind of treatments. I am thinking chemo/radiation. I know the one drug is one they prescribe when no other drug works. I was talking to his wife yesterday, and she said he will always have to have these treatments. Forever. Am I thinking right in that this is terminal? When he had his surgery, they told him if he didn't have it within the next few days he would be dead. He had it right before Thanksgiving.

Ok, I'll check back later on. I have to get my crap together and go to work today. I'd just as soon climb back into bed. :(

Tom didn't have colon cancer, Kathy, so I don't have any experience with it, but some people survive. I knew a lady that had to have a bag for a time and then she was able to have her functions restored internally again. It just depends on how bad it is. I'm so sorry he's had to face this horrible illness. We need a cure!

I worked all day yesterday and today it's gorgeous. I'll be showing 7 houses to my dear client who loves to chat about every detail so the ankle is scared!:scared1: We sold his house before the sign went in the ground to a friend of a neighbor. Gotta find a new one quick! You all have a wonderful day. J-P is off to Tahoe to a cabin to snowboard for 2 days. Travis Rice is giving him a new snowboard every year when the new designs come out. Maybe he'll be more cautious so as not to scratch up the new board??:rotfl:

Crazy busy day today. Have laundry to put away, rooms to clean and a birthday party at 2 that we are going to. Have a bunch of cheese in my refrigerator so I'm making a cheese tray to take with us since I'm not eating it now.

Really missing that extra hour of sleep...

Scale is standing at 169, but I feel thinner, weird.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Good morning everyone!
Enjoying your coffee? :) Yikes!
I know prepping for a colonoscopy is cleansing, but I never felt any different afterwards. Just after fasting for a day I was STARVING and couldn't wait to eat after the test. Maybe I'm missing the caffeine effect :confused3.

Robin - Yay for you and your dating! What happened to the preacher? Not for you? Did you and Ken have a talk? I hope you enjoyed your early evening home yesterday.

We had rain and wind yesterday that was unbelievable. My lights dimmed twice, but the power stayed on.

I have to say that I think I am getting depressed about not working. This last rejection really did me in. There are so few jobs now to apply to and the competition is fierce. There are so many people out of work. I'm 50 years old and alot of hiring managers are in their 30's and would consider me old. Can you imagine? In the past 10 months I've applied to over 75 jobs and only have had 2 interviews. 2 interviews!! I have never experienced anything like this. You would think being an admin. asst. I could easily get a job anywhere. When my son was a baby I would 'temp'. Call the agency and go to work the next Monday. Those days are gone. The first thing I did when I knew I was losing my job was call the agency I always used and they said they weren't accepting applications. I knew I was going to be in trouble right then. I know something will break eventually - it's just getting really frustrating and sad. With unemployment and my savings I can make it for another year, but I hope I don't have to wipe myself out and have to start saving from zero. Sorry for being a bummer. Just feel blue today.
