Geriatric mm warriors (12/30/09)

Thanks for all the well wishes for my marriage counseling. This is something we've done so much of in our 29 year marriage and it really hasn't worked. Previously, they have all approached it as fixing something that was intact at some point in time. We have never been intact. I think that this therapist gets it though, as when he describes where we are in relationship to each other, he spreads his arms wide and says " this is how far apart you two are". I know I'm there out of choice. The past few years I have moved a safe distance away in hopes of not being so venerable to being hurt by his choices. Robert has always been disengaged and I think this guy is calling him on that and I'm also letting him know that it's just not acceptable and he can either work on being intimate or I will call it quits. I am making a boundary.....that feels good! It scares the heck out of me, because I don't know what I'd do financially if we divorce, but I won't go on the way things are now.

 I'm glad to see your willing to do whatever it is that needs doing. Too many people don't put the work in. No matter how well the counseling works, doing the right thing is always the way to go.

Hi All...its CRAZY busy here today! Everyone who let their insurance lapse during Christmas has apparently decided they better get it taken care of today! LOL, havent had a chance to BREATHE til now!! At least its keeping me awake.:thumbsup2

Kathy - luckily we have the tractor to carry the huge bales to the pasture, but after we set them down, we DO have to push them down the hill! It is definitely comical to watch my girlfriend and I next door doing it! Congrats to you on another 5 pounds lost! YAY! I have not weighed, but I can tell I definitely didnt GAIN anything after all my excess lobster eating during the holidays...all that butter too...Im surprised...guess I should weigh in and find out for sure! I read somewhere about the magnesium and potassium thing...maybe it was stabilizing blood sugar to keep those levesl high? Cant remember! (senior moment)

Kate - your room is always ready for you! Rosacea...yep, went to a dermatologist about 5 years ago and thats what he said...although I have none of the acne or anything that usually associates with rosacea. Just redness on the cheeks, a spot under my neck and a small patch on my upper chest...its really weird...he gave me all sorts of prescription creams and gels and none of them did ANYTHING AT ALL to reduce the redness...my regular doc says it is sun damage and broken capillaries due to all my years of sun worship and said that laser treatment would help, but of course my insurance will not pay for it! So I guess I need to start a "laser treatment fund"!! In the meantime, I researched and found that the green tea cream and the green tea steeped in cider vinegar is really supposed to help alot, so we shall see!! Have fun skiing!! DONT break anything!!

Lisa and Nell - I have the detox headache too I think...didnt really cheat much, but got off on my timing etc, so cant wait for the darn thing to go away...remember how great we felt after the initial first few days back in August? Werid how we seem to be losing now even when we get off track...Im sure that wouldnt be the case if we STAYED off track for long, but its good to know we can fall off the pony and not cause major scale damage!

Diane - My crazy ponies definitely think they are dogs!! If you gave them a chance they would be sitting on my couch watching TV!! :happytv: Hope you get the Danbury job...Im such a space cadet sometimes, I forgot where you are in Ct? I used to be in New Milford, and my ex is the City Surveyor for Danbury!!

Carol - Just a quick reminder that we have plenty of room for both You and Lobster here at High Point Farm!! We are well known for both Pampered Ponies and Pampered Pooches!! Lobster will have plenty of room to keep his shoe stash!! Haha, wonder if he would collect horseshoes? :lmao:

Good evening everyone! I have been a busy MM girl today. I managed to clean my pantry, and a cupboard out in the kitchen. It took me a little over an hour, I think LOL. My pantry is looking mighty nice. But my can stuff still drives me nuts. I may get one of those wire things that holds cans. It will JUST fit in the shelf. I believe 1 will hold 24 cans. We have a lot of soup, gravy, veges, and stuff. I may order one and see if I like it.
I think I was on my leg too much today. It seems to be bothering me more today than yesterday. I have my rice sock on it now. But had a good supper, dishes are all done, kitchen is cleaned up and I'm ready to sit down with my 2nd (yes Lisa, it does say 2nd LOL) cup of green tea. I may learn to like the stuff yet LOL. Then off for a nice hot shower with some good bath and body works body scrub. Nell, you know the scent ;)
Carol, I know you will put all you can into this marriage. Just remember in the end you have done everything you can. I am praying he comes to his stupid senses!! Men are sooo stupid sometimes!!
Kate, sounds like you put up with about the same thing I did. I am so glad to have him out of my life. I don't really talk to him though. I remain civil for the girls, but other than that forget it. I am having a very hard time forgiving him for things he did and said.
Ok, off to read flylady for a bit. I am sooo glad supper is done and over with. Now to RELAX :surfweb:

I thought of that, Nell, but he'll be gone by then:sad2: We just got back from the Mens Warehouse where he spent $200 on dress clothes. Cute. We watched the best little romance called 500 Days of Summer which has a great message at the end about finding what's really right for you if you are following your true path. We all really loved it and J-P wanted to wear a sweater vest, shirt and tie after seeing it on the actor so he bought 2 such complete outfits. I got a skirt at Marshalls - black denim tulip shape. Size 14. Can't believe I'm happy about 14 when I used to be a 10, but all things in God's good time. :)

Need a vote: Can we still 'mess up' twice on Step 1 in a week and not have to start over? J-P wants to go to sushi tomorrow night for his 'last meal'. I could have fish and veggies and soup, etc. but, darn we love one or two of those rolls. They have some white rice in them. I'm thinking I might order shrimp and dip it in the sauce from J-P's roll. That might satisfy the taste buds, but what say you all in case I decide to cave??:3dglassesThis is us tomorrow at Avatar. popcorn::This is not us tomorrow.

Lisa - I thought the rule was 3 slips and you have to start over? My memory says so...go for the few bites of rice!!:)

BTW - BOTH my cups of Green Tea are done for today!!!

I thought so too, but wondered if it's more strict if you're only on the 10 day detox. I'm so proud of you and your tea!:cheer2:

Robin - That's a great mental image of the ponies sitting on the couch! :rotfl2:
I live in NY (Dutchess County) right off of I84, so a commute to CT is easy. I shop at the Danbury Mall and at the Trader Joe's there.

Lisa, I also believe it's 3 "mess ups" and you have to go back to day 1. So, enjoy your treat!!

Diane, hoping you get the job you really want!

My 2nd cup of green tea is almost gone!:cool1: I really like this mango, passion fruit and acai flavored tea. I think I may be able to drink my tea and actually enjoy it!!

Kathy - I bought the tea. I made a large mug and let it cool on the counter. I added ice and took a sip..........yum! This I can do! Thanks for sharing your find!

I'm watching "That's Entertainment". It's such a good show. "They don't make 'em like that anymore.":lmao:

You're welcome Diane!! I did notice they have blueberry and I think honey and lemon? That would be good if your sick. I want to try the blueberry also. I will try putting ice in it when I go to work later. Sounds good!! I have been drinking it warm since it's so cold here the last few days.
I never saw that movie. I'll have to check it out for sure!! Mike is watching some Adam Sandler movie. Doesn't look too good to me.

Catch up with you later. Trying to clean up a little this morning. I am making head way, although not as quickly as I'd like

Good Sunday Morning!

My Sundays will be different this year as my church meetings are now from 9:00-12:00 instead of 1-4:00 as they were last year. This means that I will have to get up early and leave by 7:45 to go to my friends house and get her kids dressed and going so we can be to church on time. It will take some getting used to.

A lot of us here are still fighting this winter cold that seems to not have descended on anyone fully but just kind of hangs around making us tired...by 7:30 pm we are all looking at the clock and wondering if it's okay to go to bed that early. Of course the 1 and 3 yr old have found their second wind by this time and are out of the bath running circles around us, but once they're down, we soon follow.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Sabbath

Carol

Good morning everyone. I'm really tired. Ok, back to bed. :rotfl:

Ok, so I'll improve my communication a bit first. It's great to see you all this morning. I didn't read anyone until very late last night because dis boards were down for maintenance. Lisa, congrats on the size 14's! That is wonderful and amazing. Give yourself credit without the disclaimer of what you used to be in the back of your head. Look how far you have come!

Pony, if it's capillaries in your cheeks casing the redness, then maybe time with being in better health will help it some. Thank God you don't have the symptoms normally associated with Rosacea. It can be really bad.

Diane, I'm pulling for you with getting this job.

Kathy, you sound very perky this morning! It's good to hear. Don't do too much and get sore again.

Carol, I hope you have a lovely church service!

Well, I'll catch up a bit later. Love you guys (girls).

Wow, up late again for me! Ponies fed, talked to Ali on the phone, now off to watch my church service and have some tea! LOL, Lisa, I actually found some green tea with orange and jasmine at Walmart last night! YAY! going to try that one today...Kathy, I think I might like it cold too like Diane suggested...it is FREEZING here again though, so it going to be hot tea for me too for the next few days...this weather is INSANE!!

Carol - Im sure the morning services will take some getting used to, but at least you will have the rest of the day free...wish you were all feeling better, but I know lots of folks at work still have that darn cold hanging on too...I cannot believe I have not been sick this year, as I almost ALWAYS get a lovely winter bout of bronchitis...must be all the supplements and vitamins! They laugh at me at work when I drag out my baggies of stuff to take during the evening...I take so many I try to space them out, a few every hour so maybe they will absorb better than all at once! As much as I hate to admit it, I think all the antioxidants in the green tea probably helps too!:confused3

Kathy - hope your knee is better today?

Lisa - great job on the new skirt, it sounds so cute! Are you better too?

Nell - where the heck are you? Farming again? LOL

Is Bev home from Disney yet?

Hey, I'm right here! :yay:
:rotfl:

Nell: Did you see the pics I posted on photobucket yesterday? I wanted you to see J-P in his leather jacket. I'm better every day - not 100% yet...Mom, Dad and J-P couldn't believe the mashed cauliflower. Kept saying, "Wait, I'm not eating potatoes?" LOL! I bought Tom a parm grater like the kind they have in restaurants from a gourmet kitchen shop. It grates very light little sticks - very fluffy. It made the best version of the cauliflower to date. It was sooo creamy. Today's our last family day together before he leaves. We're glad he's driving now as the airports are really backed up with security lines. Eye doctor, movies and sushi on the agenda for today. Have a great day, everyone!

Just stopping in to say hi real quick.
Robin, it is feeling a bit better. As long as I take long breaks between doing things, I'll be ok I think. But at times, it seems as though it feels as if bone is grinding against bone. I'll be going to the chiropractor this week yet. If it doesn't get better soon, I'll head to the doctor to get an x-ray of it.
Lisa, enjoy today with J-P. Here is a prayer going upward for his safe journey home.
Nell, good to see you. I say if you're still tired, go back to bed. Your body is telling you it needs rest ;)
Have to go to work after the Steeler game. I need to try harder to do them in the evenings during the week. I try to get it done early on weekends, but procrastination won't let me :confused3

Catch you all later

Kathy: I'm so glad your knee is better. Try to rest and do only what you have to do until you can get it evaluated again. You might benefit from physical therapy and if your doctor sends you it's covered. Have a great day!
