geography of Anaheim

Hi everyone,

I am planning a big trip to Anaheim in August 2003 for World Gymnastics Championships. I am, as evidenced by my presence in this forum, a big Disney fan.

I would like to stay on Disney property for part of this trip and spend some time in the parks. The meet is going to be held at the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. How far is this from Disneyland? Does Anaheim have a bus system? A rental car would be expensive for so many days, and it wouldn't get a whole lot of use to justify the cost.

Any information would be appreciated!

The Pond is about two miles east on Katella, which is probably one of the heaviest transit cooridors in Orange County. Cool place...wish we had a chance to catch an event there.

Thanks! If it's just 2 miles away, maybe relying on cabs would be best. The event is 10 days long, and I'm not going to pay for a rental car to drive a total of 4 miles a day!

Check with the hotel you're staying with for a free or low cost shuttle, you probably already know this. But this may help you decide from one hotel over another, unless you're have to stay at a specific hotel with other team members. Taxis can be just as costly, when compared to priceline rental cars for daily use. Look at priceline boards for info.
