Generic products you like?

Have you tried Aldis ketchup? I used to swear loyalty to Heinz! I figured I would try Aldis ketchup for the kids! it is actually very good! I like their pb too,but I can understand sticking with skippy:)

I have bought the Aldi ketchup, but I think it tastes more like Hunt's than Heinz. I'm a die hard Heinz fan, and I've been known to take my own ketchup packets to our favorite restaurant that has a different brand. :lmao: DH likes the Aldi peanut butter, but I don't. Other than those 2 products, I've liked everything that I buy there, and I save a ton of money.

I like Whole Food's generic brand (365). Loads of great organic and non-GMO options.

I buy most of our groceries at Aldi, and I like all of their products. The only things that I'm brand loyal for are Heinz ketchup and Skippy peanut butter.

I haven't found an aldi product I didn't like either! Some are even better than the name brands!!

I buy store brands most of the time unless I have coupons that take name brand price same of less. I buy Kroger brand soda, frozen pizza, cheese, peanut butter, bread, cereal bars, ice cream and much more to name. There's only select items I have to buy name brands. Smuckers jelly and pasta sauces. Tried store brand sauce once tasted chalky

I've always had good luck with Target brands - Archer Farms, Market Pantry and Up and Up.

I like Target brand stuff too. Archer Farm tortilla chips are way better than the other ones.

I like the cheap brands of Ginger ale way better than the Coke or Pepsi ones too.

BJs Paper towels and toilet paper

Any generic asprin

For house cleaning I either use baking soda for scrubbing the tub and shower. Just make a paste and scrub. I buy 13lb bag for $5. I use it to wash my white clothes it makes them brighter and fresh smelling.

I use vinegar to wash my floors and counter tops down and the bathroom area. It kills germs. great on cleaning windows and as a fabric softner. Large bottle from BJ's is less than $3. Vinegar, salt and a drop of dish soap in a spray bottle will kill weeds and grass in my flower beds.

I use lots of store brands, but couldn't tell you most of the time if they are better or worse, since I don't taste them as is, but instead they are just a single ingredient of many in something I cook.

But two things I can tell you I strongly prefer the store brands items on are: (1) Kroger Raisin Bran - I swear it has more raisins than either Post or Kelloggs, and let's face it, you eat raisin bran for the raisins! and (2) the Kroger's version of Mrs. Dash - it tastes a lot better to me.

Two things I won't buy store brands for: Peanut Butter - I am firmly in the Jiff camp - and, like a PP, Ketchup - I too like Heinz and only Heinz (I hate it when restaurants have something else!)

I use a lot of Wegman's brand items. Their ketchup tastes exactly like Heinz, their pancake syrup takes just like Log Cabin and their peanut butter tastes exactly like Jif. I also use their canned tomato products regularly. I buy Wegman's napkins and laundry detergent also. I have yet to be disappointed in any of their store brand items. Much better than Giant Food's store brands. I also occasionally stop at Harris Teeter and they have some good store brand items too.

Target:
Up & Up - contact lens solution (like Clear Care), hand soap, hand sanitizer, shave cream
Market Pantry - holiday snacks/cookies like chocolate covered pretzels or mini reindeer grahans

Walmart - Great Value Premium Wrap (plastic wrap)

Costco - Kirkland detergent

Store brand - acetaminophen, ibuprofen - doesn't matter where - walmart, target, walgreens, etc
