Hello everyone,
I am so glad I found this site it has so much great information. I was hoping for some help planning the perfect 1st trip. I'm taking my son (2) and daughter (4) and my husband next week, we are staying in the Disneyland hotel for 5 nights half board premium.
As my daughter loves all things Disney princess I have already booked lunch at Auberge as well as dinner in both Mickey's and Inventions (which I take it will be covered by the vouchers? Who would have thought a simple half board voucher could cause me so much concern). I was hoping for some other suggestions for restaurants my children may not be fussy but my DH certainly is (he likes quite plain food).
I'm also a bit worried that at two my DS may be left out a bit are there many rides suitable for that age?
I do have one last question to add to this list, along with Disney princess my daughter is obsessed with maleficent from sleeping beauty do they have the Disney baddies in the park (who understands the mind of a 4 year old)?

Thanks in advance and apologies for the long post

Hi clalin . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Your DS will be fine in the parks :)

I can't answer all your questions, but your DS will be fine, there are lots of rides in Fantasyland that he will be able to ride and few others too. I'm sure he'd also love the Animagique show in the Studios, along with the motor stunt show, cars ride, flying carpets and perhaps the studio tram tour which are also in the studios.

I've never seen Maleficent except in the parade, but that doesn't mean she's not there, someone else may be able to help you there. She does however, look out over the park from the tower above the Snow White ride. I don't know if you can see it during the day, but definitely when it gets dark and you'll have to watch closely as she peeps out from behind a curtain so isn't always there ;)

Hi, just echoing what the others have said, your DS will have a great time. I went in November 08 with my DS who was almost 4 and DD who was almost 2 at that time. There wasn't much more that he could go on that she couldn't and she loved joining in with us. Have a great time x

Your daughter has impeccable taste from one Maleficent fan to another:maleficen
Unfortunately you're not very likely to see her around the park she seems to only come out during Halloween season. :(
But if you watch the parade from the castle stage seating area and sit on the steps nearest to Discoveryland entrance, you should be just about in line with her when the parade stops, although she doesn't come down off the float.
If you watch it from around by the entrance to Adventureland then you'll have the prince/princesses stop and they come down off the float to dance, I'm sure she'll love that too.

Hope you have an amazing trip, I'm sure you will and I bet your DS is a little Disney Cowboy or Pirate in the making. :goodvibes

and your meals are all covered by the HB premium voucher, would the Buffalo Bill show be an option that is a fantastic show with a Tex Mex buffet, lots of audience participation, lots of noise and unlimited beer to keep dads happy ;) and it's also covered by your vouchers.

PS If you see me give me a shout I'll be wearing my Maleficent pins on my lanyard and I'll have my lovely Maleficant tag onmy bag.

your ds will not be left out dont worry. my dd is 2 since december and has been twice. she is now a mini disney expert lol. its scary how much she knows and remembers. all the rides in fantasyland are suitable, buzz, orbitron and autopia in discoveryland, phantom manor and a ride on the molly brown boat in frontierland and pirates of the carribean in adventureland. bear in mind though that depending on your child some may not be suitable. peter pan and snow white are dark rides and can be quite scary. potc is also very dark and has two small drops. ash did all of those and wasnt scared of anything so its possible he would be ok too. they have no fear at that age lol
