General Star Wars Discussion

So this question if the Jedi as good as they claim, is not a qustion if Republic is good?
And is it me or is this sounding a little like wicked without Ariana Grande(BTW).

I'd say they are seperate questions but could absolutely conflate. Whatever this is that happened in The Acolyte might be the fault of the Jedi, but it may also involve the Republic (though I get the feeling it does not as it may have been covered up to keep the Republic/Senate from finding out).

As you move into the Clone Wars era though, the Republic is clearly acting in bad faith, while the Jedi remain ostensibly good, if ignorant of the Chancellor's true motivations. They kind of go along with everything and are defintiely guilty of hubris and blindness, but are still acting in good faith for the most part.

So this show has less viewers than Ahsoka, which had less than Andor, but SW demand is not declining. Yep, makes perfect sense.

I mean truthfully, I haven't had chance to watch the first 2 episodes yet because I was at the Sundance Film Festival for the majority of the last week and then in less than 2 weeks I'll be at WDW for a few weeks so the The Acolyte has just come at a really bad time for me personally but I'm still looking forward to catching up with it.

Hope Sundance was fun! and hope you have a wonderful trip to WDW!! 2 wks, woohoo! We're going in October, and that seems soooo far away.....
It'll be great to catch up on Acolyte all at once, I think so far, the series lends it self to that.

if your work being shown at Sundance? you were working on a project if I seem to remember correctly

I don't think that everyone feels that way - I certainly don't. But I have observed it in others. I mean, a lot of women do prefer female leads - hence the term "chick flick." Certianly not all women like that type of thing, but it's not uncommon. It seems weird, but it's exactly why people want to see more of themselves on screen. Personally, I wonder if the focus on our differences or identifying strictly with our own is a good thing, but that gets into a whole deeper level than just what movies we like.
Is it that women prefer chick flicks over other movies, or is it that men scorn chick flicks due to a perceived idea that liking them would harm their masculinity?

A little of both I think. I will watch a chick flick (Barbie, mean girls, legally blond, etc.) with my wife because it makes her happy and I like spending time with her. She will also humor me and watch Rudy, Shawshank, or and old Clint Eastwood western for the same reason. I believe we can be equal and still recognize we are very different in what we like to watch. There is a reason the Hallmark Channel targets the female 18-34 demographic.

I found the Star Wars Oreos at BJs today. :D
Did you get Sith or Jedi? We saw them at the grocery store yesterday. Wondering what they taste like. Oreo did a limited edition space themed one around the time of the solar eclipse and those were spectacular. They put pop rocks in the frosting so it tasted more like cake frosting. Good for me that it was a limited offering.

My husband and I just tried them and we got Light Side. Although we got one of the snack boxes (that have 40 2-packs) so I'm not sure if all of them are the same, because the packaging for each 2-pack says "light side?" or "dark side?" I'll have to report back. :D There's some sugar crystals in the cream so it tastes a little sweeter than normal Oreos, but not substantially different. I think I prefer regular Oreos but these aren't bad. I got Luke Skywalker and Yoda on my cookies. :D

Please make the personal sacrifice to do the necessary research so you can let us know what's in all those two-packs. 😁

I had some Game of Thrones Oreos when those came out. They were just regular flavor Oreos with special designs on the cookies.

We are certainly enjoying our dark side/light side Oreos. So far, we've mostly gotten Red, lots of bad guys: Maul, Vader, Jabba, Fett, stormtrooper, Kylo Ren.
DH is the only one with blue so far, Yoda, Luke, and Han. Guess the rest of us have gone to the dark side.
ooh, did have a question. My son opened his 2 pack, and the first one was Darth Maul, then the second one was this:
Just fir fun, while he may go by many names , what is the first name that comes to your mind

First thing I thought was the Emperor, sometimes I'll think Palpatine first

But my DS said Darth Sidious. I don't know if I ever think of that one first, but cool.
