Today's Samuel's final lie-in of the hols and I'm leaving him to enjoy it... ;) After 2 months at home, I'm going to miss that boy  but I'm glad life is about to get back to normal...

I know what you mean Karen, it's going to be sooooo quiet when the girls start back at college, but I'm looking forward to getting back into my routine - 3 months has been too long

oh took DD to school and found out school starts tomorrow, luckily I wasn't the only one, about 3 other parents were there with kids.

LOL, oh dear, at least you weren't the only one there :rotfl:

That happened to me when I was a child. Except I was the only one and my Mum nearly drove off without me... Traumatised, much???!!! :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

Of course!!! That's why it seems longer than usual - it was longer than usual!!! All that revision study leave, work experience and post-exam lurking mean he's been around the house for about the best part of 4 months... :faint: He's a sweetheart but no wonder I feel in need of female company!!! :thumbsup2

Morning all. Had a lovely birthday meal at TGI's yesterday had a brilliant server. I'm on the TGI mailing list so got vouchers for either free bottle of champagne, free desserts or free cocktails for the group. Handed over the free dessert one but we were full so switched it to free cocktail (includes beer & soft drinks). The server bought out a piece of cake to sing Happy Birthday. The piece he bought out was the normal dessert size of chocolate fudge cake. So we got free dessert & free drinks:thumbsup2

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow:sad1:

Glad you had a lovely meal Nikki. :thumbsup2

how typical that the weather is vile for the kids last day of the holiday !!!! We are watching mary poppins ...i might get some tips :lmao:

Have a great day everyone xx

Shame it's so miserable today, it's been raining here pretty much all day too. :sad2:

Morning! A dull drizzling day here. I know this as I've just been outside with the site survey guy from the gas board. We need to get the gas meter moved (it's currently inside the soon-to-be-demolished garage) and, for ease, we've decided to have it outside. Apparently the earliest I can expect this to happen is in 8 weeks!!! EIGHT WEEKS!!!!! So not 100% sure what the builders are going to think of that but there you go...

If it's anything like the electric meter we had to have reattached to the wall it was more like 8 months - seriously they sent three people that couldn't do it before sending an electrician! :rotfl2: (Sorry I bet that fills you with confidence)

Did your PT like her bracelet & magnet?

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: That is hilarious.

Never mind at least you had a trial run. ;)

I have had a slower paced day today after my cleaning spree yesterday.

It was a very early start though - I was up & out of bed at 4am! I couldn't sleep - too excited. ;) I walked the dogs in the dark at 5am, then spent the morning sorting out paperwork etc & last minute FE gifts as we had 2 more families join on our cut off date which was Sunday.

I have just prepared a beef stew & shoved that in the oven, in a minute I am off for a long soak in the bath & start reading Twilight.

Enjoy Twilight Claire, I loved it. I'm on the last one now and I can hardly put it down. I think I will have read the 4 books in 4 weeks at this rate :)

Nah, I am beyond philosophical about these things. :flower3: Personally, I can't believe the architects didn't advise me to get this done months ago - they must've realised when they did the drawings... It's a case of no planning foresight from the people in the know...

Why, yes, thank you! She was really touched but as she's changed my fitness level so dramatically over the past 5 years it's the least I could do... :goodvibes

Sounds good, Claire!!! I've finished getting Samuel ready for school so I'm relaxing for a while... I've got a Tess Gerritson book to finish as I want to start a new one on my trip up to B'ham... :thumbsup2

Thanks Mandy. I am looking forward to starting it & if I finish it before I go I'll get the next one at the airport. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I will take lots of piccies for you, I hope to get to the special event but it clashes with a few things I've got planned .

Aww it's not surprising she liked it as it was lovely.

Afternoon

we've had a glorious day here, first in a while, its been really hot and sunny. Although I've been inside most of the day trying to clean the house. I am going through every room and decluttering it. Its amazing how much junk is here, my house will feel double the size soon :rotfl2::rotfl2:.

I keep reading about "twilight" books but never read them. What type of story are they? Think I must be the only one on here thats not reading them

Ive had an awful day, ive had 9 kids today and then i had a phone call to say my mum was poorly and i couldnt get round to her....luckily another minder came and sat with the kids whilst i shot to mums.....we thought she had a tummy bug but now its sounds like a motion problem, she says the room is spinning ( like a hangover without the alcohol ! )

my brother is on his way home from work so he's checking on her later :sad2:

Ive not had time to do any of the little jobs i had planned and the poor kids are getting their own stuff ready for school.

Oh no, I hope your mum is feeling better soon hun.

I had my first day back at work today after the school hols. It was an inset day so we had a chance to meet the new members of staff and get the last minute things done in the classroom. It's weird being in school without the children.

My DD goes back to school on Friday and then DS is off to uni on the 20th. (It seems only 5 minutes that I was holding his chubby, little hand and walking him to his first day at the school where I now work!)

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum, Nat...:hug::hug: I hope she feels better soon - her symptoms sound awful... :sad2:

Hope everything's more manageable tomorrow...
