General advice about restaurants

We will be in WDW for 3 weeks in November and will be staying at the Pop Century Resort.
We plan to eat at various restaurants at the other Disney Resort Hotels and was wondering how easy it was to get into them.
For example, we really want to visit Beaches & Cream which does not take reservations. Can we just walk into the Yacht & beach club and enter the restaurant? Or will we need to show our Key to the World pass?
Does Disney like to keep their resort restaurants for their hotel guests from that particular resort or are they open to anyone.
Just don't want to feel uncomfortable walking in and getting turned away.

From pop century i suggest taking the bus to DHS and taking the boat to YC and BC and you go to the podium and they put your name on a list or seat you if they have room. You won't need to show your Key to the world pass. All resorts are open to visitors at the restaurants and the resort itself just no pool hopping etc. Some people make days of resort hopping, and everyone loves to go to restaurants at the resort. We stayed at POP and we hit GF, Contemporary, Beaches and Cream and Cape May Cafe no issues didnt go in the parks so didnt need KTTW card Have fun

you do not need to show any ID to walk into the resorts.

They may, however, check ID if you are driving into the resort, esp. in the Epcot resort area; a lot of people will park at the BC or BW rather than at Epcot so they try to deter people from doing so. However, if you explain you are there for a meal, you shouldn't have a problem.
A couple of years ago they gave us a problem because we had reservations for a cheese tasting during the Food and Wine Festival, and it was being held at Ariel's in the Beach Club. The guard kept insisting we had to go park at Epcot because 'the food and wine festival is over there'. We finally (somehow) convinced him and he let us in!

Resort restuarants are open to everyone. Hence, if you want to eat at table service places, what you need are ADRs (Disney's version of reservations). The popular places book up fast as much as 180 days in advance. I would call right away and try to get ADRs for the places you want to try.
