I'm still loving the stories, Erica! One of my personal favorite quotes is "This is brought to you by the letter "O"...." :lmao:

I'm going to check out the tea!!! I LOVE flavored and unique teas! There's always a variety at my home, too! Thanks for the tip!!

Yeah, but we sure didn't miss the letters B & L!!! :lmao: :cool1: :lmao:

(Booze and Liquor!!!)

Erica, Tea! Sounds like a great way to pass the time. My DSIS mentioned Twinings while we were in Epcot, and then we had it in our room at AKL - LOVED IT! Even though I am usually a coffee drinker. So, I had to buy some when we went back over there - I bought the Earl Grey and a Black Current. I am hoarding it - don't know when I'll get more.

P.S. Made a cup of the currant - drinkin it now - thanks for the reminder! Yumm!

Aww, I envy your Disney localness! Perhaps next year, that will be me!

I've been on a constant rant lately about people being rude to employees just about everywhere (it's been a long summer at work!). I have no idea why people get so upset about things! It's not the CM's job to find you somewhere to eat, pick up a park map, dude!

Observation: when people, specifically Americans, do not get exactly what they want right when they want it? They get really rude. A woman near us asked if they could take her party of four. When the CM informed her that due to the rain and the subsequent closure of the patio dining, they did not have room for anyone who did not have a reservation, she was less than pleased:

I have to admit, that I too have seen my share of rude Americans....and it is funny how it does seem to happen on Foreign soil...(I would consider the Rose and Crown Foreign ;) )...making Americans look worse than people already think we are. :sad2: I have actually said to people, while in Disney and an attitude occurs to lighten up and remember that you are in the Happiest Place on Earth!! Of course, a little booze always keeps me from grumbling!!!:lmao:

Keep it coming Erica...we have 5 months to go until our Jan Thaw Cruise and you are helping me pass the time!!

Yet another reason why we may have been separated at birth. :goodvibes

Glad I could serve as a reminder, Tammy! I find tea so soothing, I start and end every day with a cup.....and usually throw another one in there somewhere. Thank goodness for decaf! :coffee:

I am not very tolerant of rude people anywhere, because I just don't understand it. It's not like being all snide is going to make another table open up for you now, is it? And did it make you feel better? No, right?

:confused3

You should totally move here. You and Sarah can be roomates next year when we finally convince her to become a resident Canadian! There, it's settled. ;)

Glad I helped to pass the time :goodvibes

Well, after searching Newport News all afternoon yesterday, I did manage to find a really cute one piece (since I have none) and a tankini....But then I thought "now I'm paying $10 out of pocket for this, is it worth it?"

I'm such an indecisive nerd sometimes.

I should have my last two trip installments by the end of the week.

Michelle, a bargain like that DEFINITELY calls for a celebratory cruise. You have to wear them somewhere, right? ;)

Installment number ten million and one: we’re STILL at Epcot?

Let me preface this post by telling you that I am desperate for some kind adult beverage right now. I had a really stinky day at work…..it was so bad, that I came straight home and skipped the gym. Usually the gym helps me work out my frustration, but today I decided I needed crackers and cheese instead. And because I am not on vacation, I could not bring myself to have a pomegranate martini at 3 pm.

Why, you ask?
Because, dear reader, I have THINGS to do. And if I start drinking now, I’m not stopping ‘til bedtime. I think I should wait until tomorrow to go on a bender, when I don’t have to get up the next morning an hour before the sun comes up.

So, instead I had my cheese and crackers with a little juice spritzer. Here is my recipe:

Pour ½ - ¾ a glass of 100% fruit juice, preferably Juicy Juice in kiwi strawberry.
Fill the glass the rest of the way with sparkling water.
Garnish, if you desire.

Ahhhh. I feel more relaxed already.

So where were we this time? Oh, right. Back from the tea store. Well, Sarah and I had only been back for a few minutes when our buzzer buzzed. Squealing with delight, I paraded to the booth, buzzer in outstretched hand as if to announce to the world that we were in the ADR club. Sometimes you just have to flaunt these things.

The inside of the Rose and Crown is lovely! It should not surprise you to know that while I lived in Scotland I spent a fair amount of time in pubs. There was something warm and cozy about the local pub. I don’t know if it was the dim lighting, or the dark walls, or the ridiculous amount of dark wood furnishings, but no matter how cold it was outside I always felt wonderfully comfortable. Going to the local pub was like wrapping yourself in a fuzzy blanket. Except it was an alcoholic blanket. And you drank it instead.

The inside of the Rose and Crown made me feel the same way. I don’t know if it was the buzz from the ADR, or the fact that it had been a drizzly day, but something about the place felt like home.

Unlike a British pub, however, they serve some vegetarian cuisine! Being a vegetarian in Scotland is kind of like being a redneck in Italy. People don’t trust you, and they think you’re confused. “No, love, pork is good! Try some!”

Well, I really don’t remember what anyone had for dinner, but since this isn’t a dining review I hope you can forgive me. I do know that everything we had was like comfort food. I had some kind of a lentil pie, and though it may sound about as appetizing as some cardboard dipped in mud, it was incredibly flavorful and warm and fantastic.

Initially, our plan had been to have dinner and then watch the fireworks. However, Lionel had been fighting a cold for the better part of the week and the medicine started wearing off during dinner. He started out sitting straight up in the booth, talking excitedly about the show. As the night wore on, he started to sag. “When we watch the fireworks” was replaced with “no, I can make it…..I’ll be ok…..*sniiiiifffffff* *hack* *hack* *cough* *loud dramatic blowing of nose* …I don’t want to disappoint everyone *sniff* *sniff*”

And then, he fell over.

He perked up a bit when dessert arrived. Here we are at our table, anxiously waiting for the moment when we could dig in. Take the picture already!

See what I mean about the dark wood?

Again, memory fails regarding who had what…..I know I had the Bailey’s Trifle, and Lionel had some kind of cobbler, and Sarah got a special birthday treat. Everything was delicious. And by the end of the meal, Lionel had almost accepted the fact that no one would be mad at him if we bailed out before Illuminations. We knew Sarah would be back for Food and Wine, and for the cruise, so we figure we’ll catch it then. When no one is sick. Hopefully.

We drudged out to the car as Lionel claimed a few more times that we could turn back, he could PROBABLY make it….but in truth, we were all pretty tired and no one was upset about getting home. Plus, I had to go to work the next day. A little extra sleep is never a bad thing on a work night.

At home, we curled up on the couches and watched TV until it was time for bed. It was a perfect enough end for us.

Next: the summary of the rest of the visit!

Glad you liked it! :goodvibes

I am WAY past ready to go on this cruise. Every day I count it down. 45 days from today, wheeeee! And then, to make it seem closer, I say 38 days until Sarah arrives and the party begins!

:cheer2:

Our double-dip is Sept 27, 2008. There are ALOT of days to go before that one.

oh you say it like its FAR away... ONLY 398 days.. which is ALMOST a yr LOL :lmao:

13 months yesterday, wheeeee! This budget cruise is like a warm-up.

So, yesterday was the last night of our summer bowling league, which meant payouts! We ended up in second place, amazingly (though I bowled terribly ALLLLL night long) and got $95 each!

Lionel has set aside $30 for the three of us to go to Palo from his share (which means, Sarah, it's his treat!), and I set aside $42 to cover a trip to the Rainforest Room and bike rentals for myself and Lionel. I might go ahead and order my slightly-more-modest bathing suits now from Newport News before my $20 credit runs out.

Of course, we could also use the rest of the money for.....more alcoholic experimentation!!! I think we can spring for a nice shiny bottle of Absolut and another O'Maras, with strict instructions that read: do not open until October 11, 2007.

I still owe post-pre-TR in a pre-trippie wrap-up, which I promise I will finish by Monday. PINKY SWEAR!

Ok.....

Little  on one shoulder whispers in ear.... "Save it for the cruise...save it for the cruise..."

Little :furious: walks across shoulder and knocks  off.....

**DROOL** The Bailey's Trifle ***MORE DROOL***

Did I mention that I have a sort-of recipe for that? And that I made it last Christmas? And that even the small children in the family were licking their bowls and asking for more?

:goodvibes
