Gee Whiz - I wish I had the time...

So, we're at the grocery store and DD10 scrapes her arm. I grab her arm and go to kiss it. She pulls her arm away quickly and says "don't lick it." I said I was just gonna kiss your arm, not lick it. She was laughing. Then DD4 loudly says, "I would lick someone's butt." I wasn't sure if I should be overcome with embarrassment or laughter. I went with laughter. That child is not right.

hMMM, copying something they heard at home?:scared1:

Well, all I can say is, I used to have a job where I had X amount of work to do in my day, and 10 hours to do it.

If I hurried and did 1 hours worth of work in 40 minutes, I would spend the extra 20 minutes here.

Now I have a job in which I am on reserve at home, and also where I sit reserve at work, and this place REALLY helps the time fly by!

Hello All! I'm back from the great Bahookie Bash and have plenty of pics. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, it might take a while to upload them since my computer is misbehaving.

Had an absolutely wonderful time. Loved, loved, loved Pirate League, MNSSHP, Wishes Dessert Party -- everything -- except my mom got sick and spent most of her vacation in the hotel room. She didn't seem too upset by it because she just felt that crappy. Had a very bad cold and her cold's usually tend to go into bronchitis, so she was happy to sleep and relax most of the vacation away.

Hoping Kerrie's kids have received the postcard I sent by now since I sent it, I believe, on Tuesday. Also, sent the postcard to Scotlass's son as well but that one didn't get mailed until, I think, Thursday or Friday, so that might take a while. Was able to get Mickey and Pluto to sign for Kerrie's kids, and Dale and Chip (yep, that's the way they signed!) for Scotlass's son. Hope the kids enjoy them!

PK, glad you had a great trip. I'm looking forward to the bahookie pics and am already thinking of trying to do the same sort of thing on my next trip there. I would really like to hear about the Wishes dessert party since it's something I have not experienced.

Sorry to hear about your mom but it's great that she's such a trooper and didn't let it ruin the trip for the rest of you. We had 3 in our group get very sick on our last trip. I guess if you go often enough, it's bound to happen.

Pakey, Wishes Dessert Party was the best thing we ever decided to do. It was well worth the price. I had actually never been to the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. The seating is on the lower level on the lefthand side, directly on the water. We lined up at 8:45 at which time we were checked in and given wristbands. The began letting us in at 9 p.m. at which time you are escorted to your table, which is reserved for your party. Once seated you can immediately go to the dessert buffet and get whatever you'd like. For this reason, I would suggest getting on line at 8:45 or so. There were chocolate covered strawberries, tarts of all kinds, cookies, brownies, mango shooters (yuck), cannoli... drinks included lemonade, apple juice, milk, coffee, water (not sure what else). There was plenty of food and there were plenty of leftovers. Because it is kept to a small number of attendees, everyone is invited to stand at the railing during the fireworks. It is a completely unobstructed view and when Tink flies from the castle, she flies directly over your head! :worship: Most of the fireworks actually look as if they are to the right of the castle, instead of behind it because of the angle. The great thing about it being atTomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station is that ithas a somewhat quiet/hidden restroom, so you can go and come back right to your table without a problem. We were also able to watch SpectroMagic from our table. You could see the top half of everything as it made it's way up Main Street. It is a somewhat obstructed view, but it's much better than lining up for a 9 p.m. parade at 6 or 7 to get a good seat. I would definitely, unequivocally, do this again. Others on the DIS have mentioned tipping at the Dessert Party, but there really wasn't anyone to tip, so I tipped the gentleman who was cleaning up after the party. Not sure if he was the right person, but I didn't see anyone else. There's just one person who escorts you to your table and then the men who clean off the tables at the end. Also, they had a Photopass photographer there to take pictures. My daughter and I stayed and chatted with him for about 1/2 hour after the fireworks were over. He was extremely friendly and informative -- just wish I could remember his name!

PK, that dessert party sounds amazing. If they extend it into next year, I will definitely book it. When we did Keys to the Kingdom Tour we got to see where Tink lands; she actually flies a pretty good (and scary) distance. I'm so glad you guys got to experience and enjoy it. It's so nice to have new experiences at WDW, esp after going so many times.

And I agree with you on parade viewing. If we get lucky and can see one, we will watch but I'm not one to stand around and wait 2 hours in order to do it. It sounds like you got decent viewing and the top half is the only part that counts with Spectro anyway. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the details. Can't wait to hear more about the trip (and see those bahookie pics).

Welcome back, PK!!!

I'm glad you had a good trip, sorry to hear about your mom. I'm with Pakey, if they extend the dessert I'm booking it.

We got your post card today. Thanks!!!!!! The kids LOVE it. They asked how did they know we're coming. And, they plan on letting Mickey and Pluto know they received the postcard when we go in June. They want to tell them thank you. There's lots of excitement right now. I REALLY appreciate you doing that for my kids. I love seeing the joy on their little faces. Poor Harlie has both an outer and an inner infection right now, so she needed something to perk her up. You're the best PK!!

Shelbie (10) is so excited she says she's going to go pack now. Um, we don't leave until next June, it might be a little too early to pack. She did photocopy the postcard so she can keep it in her room. :)

Kerrie, I'm so glad the kids were excited. I was somewhat disappointed in the limited choice of postcards to choose from. Apparently postcards are a thing of the past for Disney. I actually waited on line at a character greeting area and was going to have all 5 characters sign, but there just wasn't room on the postcard. :headache: And I can't blame Shelbie for wanting to pack. I usually start months ahead of time and pack, unpack and repack. :rotfl:

There was a bounceback offer available, but I didn't book it. :sad1: I'm sure they'll offer free dining again in the spring but it really stinks not to have another trip schedule. However, I have to put on my big girl panties and deal with my finances at the moment and I'm ready. We had a great trip, splurged on many things, and now it's time to do the right thing. I'm not ruling out a trip next summer, especially because it's DD's 8th grade graduation, but I'll have to do some serious belt tightening before I make that decision.

I'm now going to live vicariously through Scotlass who is going in 5 weeks. Then GP (can't remember when his trip is) and finally, through you Kerrie. That should hold me over the next 9 months or so! :yay: :woohoo:

I think Pakey goes in May, so that gives you another "trip."

Yes, I'm going the first week of May in 2010 and will stay DVC (currently booked to stay at BCV for 4 nights and then the Treehouse Villas for 3 nights). We are scheduled to take youngest son, his fiancee and her 7 year old daughter. Then I think my husband and I are going to go back in October for F&W and stay at the Grand Floridian, just the two of us.

Except for when I was going through chemo, this is the longest I have gone without going to WDW. It's now been 7 months and I've got 8 more to go. It's killing me. So I love hearing about others' trips.

So, PK, how was MNSSHP? I'm pretty sure I've talked DH into going every other year even after all the kids have started kinder, and I need ideas on other things to do to keep him interested (well, as much as he can be interested). Since we're homeschooling now, we can go anytime of year that we want. I'm pretty sure I can get an early Dec trip after this, but I think the kids might like MNSSHP party, too. Especially as they get a little older.

Oh, and Shelbie is now trying to talk us into going earlier now that they've gotten the postcard. She wants to go in the spring, but CJ won't budge on Star Wars Weekends.

Kerrie, does your husband golf? That's the only appeal WDW has for my husband, he enjoys the golf there alot. He would never go to WDW if it wasn't for me but I'm not giving it up until I can no longer walk the parks.

we are going from the 16th to the 26th. it will be our last..:scared1:

for a few years.

we are going to do a England/Ireland/Scotland trip and a trans-canada trip over the next few years, plus we want to go back to Alaska.

but we will get our Disney fix by going to DLR a few times in between major trips.

No golf for my DH. When we went on our first trip, it was my oldest's special trip before starting kinder. DH made the mistake of agreeing to go before each child starts kinder. Of course, he agreed to that when we only had 2, who knew we'd end up with 5. I sometimes wonder if he thinks our "suprises" were on purpose so I could get another Disney trip. Maybe that's why he's ok with more trips now. No more suprises. :rotfl:

Of course, on the other years he wants us to take a trip to Colorado with the jeeps. Let's see, alternating trips between Colorado and Disney World. Doesn't sound too bad. And, of course, we'll have to take educational trips around the country.

The kids all want to go to California sometime, too. So, hopefully, we'll make it to Disneyland. (and legoland, and Yosemite, etc)

Welcome back PK, it was a lovely thing to do, mailing those post cards to the kids  Mickey's hands are kinda big to handle a stamp.

Pakey, tell your husband you chase little white balls when you get to old to chase anything else.

:wave2: Kerrie, Scotlass, pirate: , Snap, Smileybug & a speshial hello to the OP
