Can I come with you? I don't take up much room, you can fit me in a medium size carryon! :yay::woohoo:

Sure snapppyd -- the more the merrier (and cheaper!) :rotfl: Unfortunately, all my free dining ADRs are only for 3 people, so you'll have to eat alone. The plane leaves next Sunday morning at 8 a.m. See you at Newark!

Can I just meet you in Orlando? I don't see any need for me to fly all the way to New York first. :rotfl:

I'm trying to decide on my next fall vacation. I have too many dvc points, don't want to rent them, so my husband and I are either going to take a 7 day Disney cruise or stay Royal Palm at the GF (which is a horrible waste of DVC points but they are my points and I can waste them if I want to). We love GF but we have done it before. We have a rule that we have to someplace every year we have never been before (which would mean we'd have to take the cruise) but after doing 2 cruises (one Disney, one RCL), we just don't think we are cruising people. So do we break our rule our just put on our big-people clothes and go on the cruise anyway? We are going to the world in May already. Ackkk. I just don't know.

I'd rather think about Disney instead of my carppy day here at work. I'm so sick of my staff calling in absent. Don't they know jobs are hard to come by and they should put out more effort to come to work? My assistant and I are thinking of writing a book of bad excuses used when calling in sick because I've heard some whoppers in the past month or so. I think I'm going to have to get firm with all of them and I hate having to do that. You'd think grownups could just act responsibly.

Pakey, tell them to start here:

I've never been on a cruise. I could never follow your rule, we have stayed at the Beach Club about 25 trips in a row! I do not own a passport :lmao:

We go to WDW every year at least once but sometimes up to 3 times. But the rule is that one vacation has to be to a new place. My husband is not a huge fan of WDW (the parks) so this is our compromise. We have quite a few stamps in the passports now. We usually take our non-Disney vacation in the fall and we take turns picking the destination.

Last year we went to Paris and it was so amazing, that I'm honestly not in the mood to go somewhere new because I don't think anything will ever compare to Paris. Funny, cuz Paris was not my pick but I absolutely loved it there.

The thing I love about WDW is that I know ALWAYS that I will have a good time. Some of the other places we have been, well, it's nice to say I've been there but at the same time, I'm glad we have the rule so that I never have to go again. :rotfl:

Pakey, I'd be happy to meet up with you in Orlando. No need to come to NY/NJ first.

I never had the desire to travel when I was younger, but the older I get, the more I would like to. Not sure where (or even when), but hopefully it's something I can work toward at a later date. Never been on a cruise and not sure it's my "thing". Disney cruises have always looked like fun but expensive. Royal Caribbean leaves right out of my town, but I'm not sure how DD would fit in or even if I would. I'm afraid one of us would be bored. No passports here either and I think I'd rather go elsewhere before a cruise. I'd really like to take DD to Washington, D.C. DH and I went there in our 20's and loved it, but never got back. I think she would love the historical aspect of it. Well, that's for another time. In the interim, I'll be at Disney in 9 days and am very excited, especially since it could be my last vacation for a while.

Woo Hoo 9 Months and 14 Days ........

wait a second, that doesn't seem nearly as exciting, does it?

I'm excited for you PK, I even had to check the calendar to see exactly when you leave. Don't forget your Bahookie Quest!

Not quite as exciting, but I think sometimes the most exciting part is the anticipation. I sometimes get maudelin while on vacation because I know it will be over soon and I never know when I'll get back. I'll be leaving on 8/30 and coming back in the late evening of 9/6.

As for bahookie bash '09, I've told my mother and my daughter of our quest, so they'll be sure to remind me. Never know, I might even throw in a pic of "special guest appearance". :confused3  :scared1:

Your choice of smilies really cracked me up! :rotfl2:

BTW Pakey, sorry to hear about your employees misbehaving. I think many people are lacking a work ethic and a sense of responsibility. I'm very grateful for my job. Been here 21 years (on 9/12) and I know how good I have it. I have people I work for that respect me and that I respect. I may not always like the way things are handled, but it's not my company. I go the extra mile and the people I work for appreciate and recognize that. I'm always willing to try to accomodate their filing schedules, even if it means working nights or weekends. I know when the cuts come, I won't be going anywhere because I go the extra mile.

Most of my staff I really adore. They have good attitudes and work hard and would do anything I asked of them. However, I've got 3 of them that I just need to replace. I've been down one person for 5 months now because I have not been interested in screening applicants. So the thought of 3 more positions being added to that list just makes me want to hurl.

The receptionist has called in sick every day this week because she just can't get past her son starting school. She has not been a SAHM, the boy has been in daycare since infancy, so I don't understand the drama over him starting school.

I do try to be a nice and understanding boss but 5 days in a row of calling in sick because you can't stop crying about your kid starting school, gimme a freakin' break.

Besides her, I have two others who miss at least one day a week for one ridiculous reason after another.

Good thing I'm going to Las Vegas in October, I need a short vacation. It won't be as grand as WDW, but it will have to do.

My DH thought I was over the top because I teared up the on my oldest 2's first day of kinder. Missing 5 days of work because your son's starting school, hmmm, maybe its time to stay home permanently. My DH gets onto his boss for not firing people at work who deserve it. It hurts the everyone if one person doesn't do their job as they should.

Enjoy Vegas!

Did I mention to you somewhere what I was thinking? How did you know I'd probably need the wide angle lens? Mom, is that you? 'Cause she's the one I had the conversation with, unless I told you and forgot I did. :rotfl:

Hmmm, pretty basic logic..

Bahookie shots.....

Dis'ers on vacation....

point and click digital camera....

Pirate and RUM....

simple!!!

PK and Snap, you guys gonna get a visit from Bill? Hope not.

I can't wait to see these bahookie pics. I think this would make a great scrapbook theme -- a bahookie book.

Thanks for your good weather wishes Pakey. Everything has been very quiet today. The weather forecaster said there was a low pressure ridge sitting over us which was supposed to bring us a lot of rain today and tomorrow (nothing yet) and that was what was going to keep Bill out at sea. No hurricane here, just 12-15 foot waves at the ocean, but I'm not near there.

The reason I asked GP about his comment was because when I told my mom about Bahookie Bash '09 she said I should substitute in a picture of my rather large Pooh sized bahookie as a joke, among the pics of the characters. :rotfl: That's why I asked about GP's comment on a wide angle lense. :lmao:

I'm having major computer issues -- I've almost run out of memory on my internal hard drive and Dell said I cannot upgrade -- they don't sell larger internal hard drives for my computer as it is now obsolete (at almost five years old). I'm having to decide whether to buy an external hard drive or just buy a new computer. That will depend on my holiday bonus this year. And have I ever mentioned that I have no idea how a computer actually works? I'll have to figure out, one way or another, how to move all of my ITunes and my pictures. I hear it's not easy to move your ITunes to a new computer, so that is quite the daunting task. Anyway, not sure how many pics I'll be able to upload once I get back, but I'll be sure to create at least a shutterfly website where you'll be able to check them out at your leisure.

I'm almost completely packed, just need to add the last minute things. Got the email from Disney about checking in online, but I'm not sure if I should or not. DD is getting excited about our trip, but realizes that once we get back, she has two days before school starts up again. Big year for us -- 8th grade. Will mean having to figure out what high school she will attend. :scared1: Can't believe my "baby" will be in high school next year. Just glad she still hasn't decided that WDW is uncool. She loves it as much as I do.

is it a desktop or laptop?

how big is your hard drive?

replacing a hard drive( or installing a secod one) in desktops is pretty easy

in a laptop, a bit more difficult but not impossible.

moving files to external storage is also easy.

perhaps you simply need to do a defrag on your computer. And clean deleted files.

how big is your hard drive? 80GB

replacing a hard drive( or installing a secod one) in desktops is pretty easy replacing not an option; would have to install an external

in a laptop, a bit more difficult but not impossible.

moving files to external storage is also easy. probably is, I'm just afraid that while trying to move, I'd lose them.

perhaps you simply need to do a defrag on your computer. And clean deleted files. been there, done that.

Next step is to try to compare all the photos saved on my computer to what's on shutterfly, then delete the pics from my computer. Shutterfly has a great option where you can purchase full sized jpegs of your photos on CD (or was it DVD?) -- up to 1000 images only $20. That's why I'm comfortable with deleting pics from my hard drive. Then I'm going to uninstall Adobe Photoshop Elements, since I never use it. That's taking up a lot of space. I just figured if I had to spend a lot for an external hard drive, maybe I was better off buying a new computer. Don't need the speakers, screen, etc., just the CPU. Apparently with ITunes you can purchase a song once and share it on 3 or 4 ipods. Well I never figured out how to do that, so was purchasing the same song 2x, once for me and once for DD. Ugggh, that was definitely a waste of money.
