We always seem to be neglected Down Under - they seem to give the UK and US residents the better deals and we have little to none.

Which was why I was surprised when I saw an email from disney . com . au (don't know which email list it's from, maybe disney rewards) which had the following:

Have screen shotted it as it's unable to be copied from the email!

So the deals aren't the best, I sure wouldn't be going to DLR just for an Australian Mickey Ear pin or a 'fast pass for WOC' pft which is free anyway but thought I'd post it incase anyone could take advantage of it. Have to stay onsite for 3 nights + buy a 3 day ticket. It says talk to a travel agent to take advantage of the deal.

At least they're thinking of us Aussies! (Doesn't mention New Zealanders but I hope they'd be included)

I got the same email. I did comment to my husband that I could never leave it this late to book to go to Disneyland. Also, don't think I'd book at trip just for the badge and fast pass either. Would like the Glow with the show ear hat, but I can buy one of those myself!

I was interested in the entrance to the G'Day Disneyland event. We're there in May, so thought that was interesting. Couldn't ind anything else about it though.

I saw this too. Would totally go for it if I was going in May! As you said, it's not often we get perks on this side of the world!

And if anyone is going in May and goes to one of the welcome events, I'd be very interested in a detailed report back :thumbsup2

my concern is that they may not get a lot of responses to this kind of ad (3 months notice to book a holiday to the usa -- that might work for usa residents, but not when you have 14+ hour flights and that's pretty expensive for a family of 4 unless you just have oodles of money lying around and a lot of leave waiting to be taken) and therefore may think that it's not worth advertising here in australia.

also, i find it kind of cheesy (in a bad way) that they're doing the whole 'come say g'day to disneyland' thing... the last time i said g'day was in 1988 at the bicentennial as part of a script :(

I've also noticed a few TV ads for Disneyland lately (and California) - maybe they're hoping to tap into the market down here :confused3 We can only hope :rotfl: I agree with Alicia though, I hope they don't take a lack of interest in this particular offer as a lack of interest generally :sad2:

Agree. I'd be interested to hear from a TA as to how far in advance most Aussies plan their Disney trips. For us it's between 12 and 24 months.

I would have thought the average would be around 6-12 months - most people I know aren't uber-planners like us :rotfl:

I don't know if it's the uber planning - but the lack of funds that makes us that way!

We've been to DL three times. The first time we booked in sep to travel in December. So 3 months out for the first major overseas trip with 4 kids. That was insane planning. The next time we planned it 10 months out and the 3rd time the trip was planned 14 months out. Sadly ;) only cruises planned for now, but I do plan our international travel further in advance now as I can't bear to to have a trip in the works,

But a great initiative from Disney. I hope to see more of the like

I got the email too, but have plans for May already. And it's just too short notice...was excited to see it though, haven't been to DL yet.

What channels are the Disney ads on??? I never see them :(

I saw the ad in the paper today and I think it said you have to book and pay by sometime in March. I don't think we have school holidays in May either.

This is the Disneyland ad that's been on most recently (or close enough, I don't know if it's slightly different for Australian viewing)

The 'Visit California . com ' one has been playing a fair bit too. It's so painful when this one + the Disneyland one are on in the same ad break. Makes me want to just turn off the TV and head straight to the airport!

Interestingly the 'Misconceptions' one is from 2008 and Youtube tells me this one is the latest one in Australia.

They have brought out this offer too soon and for not long enough. They really should extend it longer to give people some time to plan a trip
