GCV - availability @ 7 months?

I have been watching it for the past month as our days are flexible. But regardless of villa size, I can't find any nights that are consecutive. In your opinion, is it highly unlikely that we will be able to get a villa for any dates at 7 months? If so, I will just go ahead and book DLH or find a cash room at GC. Thanks!

I got a studio at exactly 7 months twice - first week of May 2011 and last week of September 2012.

From what I've seen, there's usually availability of some sort at 7 months if you book first thing in the morning. If you're waiting until 9 or 10, you could already be too late. VGC has very few villas and are in high demand, especially with the opening of Carsland.

I was able to get a studio for March 2013 for 4 straight days. Looking forward to staying there.

We were able to get 8 nights in a studio in July 2012 at 7 months with no problem. When we got there, we had the perfect park-view villa on the 5th floor with a gorgeous view of World of Color! It was a totally *awesome* first trip, and probably the best luck we've ever had in our room assignments!

We were able to get 8 nights for June 2013 with no problems. I agree that you should call right when MS opens because later on in the day, the rooms might be booked up. I noticed that when I was checking something later on in the day. Good luck getting what you want.

Editing to say that we booked a Studio, and FYI Studios go much quicker then the other villas.

Yes, as far as we know, the same inventory is available for online booking as is available to MS. Inventory changes very quickly when the booking windows open.

Online booking is available pretty much 24 x 7. However, the 7 & 11 month windows first open at 8 am Eastern.

Yes it is true one can get a booking at 7 months. I thought it would be near impossible when I first heard about the VGC were planned, but happy to note that isn't true.

BTW, for fun last month, I tried to book a room at VGC for November by using the online DVC booking. I requested a room (any) a week at a time. Went through all the weeks until Jan 4. I would find a one bedroom or a grand villa (three bedroom) available for one night midweek here and there.

Well lo and behold a one bedroom for one night Sat Dec 1 came up available. I let it go and checked back a week later and it was still available! I booked it. So we are on our way next weekend.

What I learned: if one has the flexibility, doesn't mind booking online through the member website, and check back periodically, one can get a room even one month out during a busy time of year at one of the smallest DVC properties.

I got 5 consecutive nights in April at 7 months. I've stalked the online booking system a little, and I've seen often availability for April and May at 7 months, but in a matter on minutes sometimes they weren't available anymore.
So yes, be ready at 8am to book online to have greater chances of success.

I was able to book a 2BR for 3 nights in late June last Friday, with our first night in a 1BR (which I don't really mind). I was surprised that I was able to get it 7 mo out.
