Hi-

I heard that GCH will be under going renovations now that the Villas are almost complete. Has anyone else heard this?

It sounds like they will be starting with 6th floor. Just wanting confirmation?

Thanks!:hippie:

I stayed there last week. The room was in great condition, didn't seem in need of renovation.

We stayed at the GCH the end of september. Our room had brand new carpet. We have stayed at the GCH before and the carpet in our room looked different then any room we have been in before. It also had that new carpet smell. The bedding was different in the room this time too, but we were on the sixth floor this time. The other times we have been on the 3rd and 4th floors.
I don't know if I'd call it "renovations", but maybe some routine replacment of carpets and such.

I had read that they would be renovating GCH after the GVC opened, and from what I'm reading, that seems so. Fantastic. You've got to figure after 10 years things start showing some wear. Starting on the 6th floor is a wonderful thing, that's where we are in December.

We are staying in November on 6th floor. I hope we get a renovated room. Would be great!

That is where we are staying in December. I guess we'll see what kind of room we get and report back. :cool1:

They've already put new armoires and flat screen TV's in all the rooms. I know they are remodelling the Disneyland Hotel.

We were there in August and our room looked new.

We were there end of August on the concierge level. A couple different CM's talked to me about the "soft goods refurbishment" happening at GCH in the coming months.

They are changing: bedspreads, carpets, drapes, to "match" the decor in the new wing. If you do a search, you can see what the Villas models look like, in terms of bedding and carpet. The CURRENT GCH bedding and carpet are different, and they want ALL the rooms to have the SAME "look".

As of the last week of August, they had already begun on the 6th floor. A CM indicated to me with a wave of her hand which "wing" had already been shut down to guests and work started.

Very cool ... sure is nice getting some touch ups at gch. So, brergnat, which "wing" did she wave her hand towards?

bump ... comments, anyone? Would love to hear any updates. :goodvibes
