When we visited in July I asked at the GCH entrance that if we had a receipt from one of the restaurants there, would we be allowed to use that entrance to re-enter DCA? I was told yes. In October we would like to eat breakfast at Storyteller's, then use that entrance as it would be more convenient as we are starting in DCA that morning. We are not staying at the Disney hotels. Will they let me use my receipt to enter DCA first thing in the morning?

A number of folks have posted that they were able to do this, but as per, things can change a moments notice.

Thanks Jack. I thought I could, I just wasn't sure about first thing in the morning.
Does anyone know if they still open Soarin' early at 9:30 before the rest of the park opens?

It has been recently, 0900 for people staying on site to get the WOC fastpasses and 0930 for onsite admission to DCA.

Mouseplanet reports in their WoC guide that since DLR defines hotel guest as anyone using their amenities that day, if you go and buy a bottle of water/small souvenir from GCH, eat at one of GCH's restaurants, etc. and show your same-day receipt, you can use the entrance. It's apparently had pretty much 100% success rate, although some people reported the attending CM was none too pleased to let them in, although they did (with attitude).

I did want to point out that we don't intend to try and get in "earlier" to grab a FP for WOC. I just thought it would be more convenient than to walk around to the DCA main gates for riding Soarin' at 9:30 before the rest of the park opens. The main gates still open for everyone to ride Soarin' at 9:30 don't they?

They will let you in if you have a receipt from one of the shops/restaurants at the GCH. The only time I've heard ppl being turned away was when they tried to enter late afternoon/early evening with a receipt from breakfast at Storyteller.

Yes they do according to some recent posts.

Hmmmm. I've used the entrance in the late afternoon and I didn't show them anything. We went and took a break in the lobby and then went back to the park.

The only time I've been asked for my key is early morning.

Was this since WOC started in June? Everything I've read is they've been really strict since then, but maybe it's starting to go back to the old pattern if you just went in the last week or two?

I'm a little ignorant...please help me understand...

When we were there Aug09 we went to White Water Cafe for lunch and re-entered the park right there. Is this the location you're speaking of? We didn't have to show anything but out passes...no receipt. I've been wondering if this would change b/c of WOC.

Yes, ussschmidt, that's what they are talking about. :) when we used it we were allowed in without receipts as well (we had eaten at Storyteller's) but they are being more strict about it now.

Hi Kerri! I don't know if you remember me, but I always look for you on the board b/c you inspired me to get AP's haha...you're officially to blame for my DSE (Disney Snowball Effect). You used to post about your weekend trips and I thought "if she can do it, so can I" hahaha! I'm desperately trying to convince dh to get another set. He's on board, but wants to wait until after Christmas. I want to go yesterday!

Yes to your question, if you eat at white water snacks, Napa rose or the bar area in the GCH and or SC as long AS YOU have your receipt from any one of those places you are good to go as far as entering DCA from the GCH entrance! :cool1:

I know this because I left that way to go to sephora one day, and then in order to come back into the park I went to WWS and bought 4 cheese sticks and a drink and they let me into DCA from the GCH entrance, because after all I did purchase something in the GCH!

Hi Susan! I remember you!! I'm glad my weekend trips helped you get your DH on board with APs!! I'm so jealous, I have no clue when we will get back, we were discussing next year but then I lost my job so..... :) I do think APs make great Christmas gifts tho!! your DH may be onto something there. :)

We stayed at the GCH from July 18 to July 22. We used that gate at different times of the day and they checked each and every time. While we were waiting to get in one afternoon, there was a woman who had exited from the park through that gate and was trying to get back in and they were telling her she had to use the main entrance. I didn't stick around to find out what happened but it didn't look like the were going to back down.

We were there the 19-24th of July and no matter what time of day it was you had to have a room key. Some of the CMs were a bit hostile about this even. My poor Mom had forgotten hers and had to find me to get let back in to DCA. Never tried it with a receipt but have heard as well that it should work. Good luck! :)

Does everyone in your party have to show their room key?

I'm usually the only one who carries their room key into the parks. There is no reason for my kids to carry theirs and my wife would prefer not to if she isn't required.

 a though just came to my head ...i think that the CM told me that even if you BUY something at the gift store inside GCH and keep your recpeit they will allow you to enter DCA from GCH, but i could of been hearing things, so maybe someone might want to check on that...
