GCA $259, DL Hotel $169, Paradise Pier $159, 8/24-12/18 2008

I've been signed up there for years, too.

On another board they are speculating that your PIN has to match the name and address they sent it to . . . Also one poster claims he/she called and got a the rate just by asking for the Disney Destinations email rate. As with many things it might just depend on who you talk to.

Sigh.

If a list generates, please put me down. Much appreciated.:thumbsup2

If this system is anything like WDW's, you can't trade or pass along the PINs. If it's like WDW's, from what I've learned from those forums, they are linked to you and you only.

Although this is a nice offer; to start a list for the code…the offer states non-transferable… and after talking to a supervisor…the name on the email or letter must match the reservation name...your name is linked to the offer.
Just something to think about before you start a list…

* Offer valid 8/24/08 through 12/18/08. Block out dates of 11/25/08-11/29/08, 12/5/08-12/6/08, 12/12/08-12/13/08 and other restrictions apply. Advance reservations required. Subject to availability as the number of rooms allocated for this offer is restricted. Weekend rates, other room rates and other hotel rates will vary. Excludes Resort fees and taxes. Offer is non-transferable and the Personal Identification Number (PIN) from your offer postcard is needed when making reservations. Limit two rooms per reservation and five (5) people maximum per room. Not valid in combination with any other discounts or offers. Subject to change without notice. ©Disney

I agree with Bethy, I think it all depends on who you talk to when you call!

It is just like how some people get free room upgrades at check-in while others don't. I'm sure some Disney employees are all about trying to offer you all they can and really focus on making guests feel special!

I have read on many posts that the pin is linked to the person who received it. I started reading posts back in March when researching our trip to WDW and that is the first I had heard of these postcard pin offers. After reading about them I signed up for everything Disney I could online, but I have no idea what exactly was the trick to getting the postcard. It is not the AP or the Disney Visa! It must have to do with certain sites or some method of tracking your "Disney activity" whether it be resort stays, shopping, whatever!

I have also sent in movie ticket stubs to Disney Movie Rewards so that is another possibility for how I got on the list.

JadeDarkStar-
I noticed you're from Phoenix... have you ever driven to DL??? If so how was it?

We drive from Phoenix quite often. It's about 6 hours give or take, and a really ugly drive most of the way. The most easy and direct route is to take the 10 West all the way to the 57 South. There is a shorter route through Riverside but they have been doing endless construction on an interchange down there and it can get scary and confusing.

I just read on another forum that the offer was only to SoCal residents (maybe that includes Phoenix?) Who knows. In away that is frustrating b/c what about the rest of us who pay to travel far distances to DLR? Shouldn't we get a break? Maybe they figure that those of us who are willing to travel wouldn't be as influenced by lower hotel rates - that we would go anyway.

Thanks for the driving info! We may end up driving as the flight cost for 4 is $636 on Southwest($69 each way). Having to buy tickets for both kids will be a new and unwelcome change next summer!!! Having to buy 3 was rough and now it will be four and who knows how expensive flights will be then. The price from PHX to SNA isn't bad but it adds up you know? Even with the high price of gas it is still a considerable savings to drive.

Okay off the subject- I can't seem to upload images? You guys all have such cute colorful images and pics too... how do I do that? I am sure my husband can do this for me when he gets home, but I'd rather do it myself if someone could give me some help!

I received the mailing, and I have never lived in California. The card is clearly addressed to my home address in Utah, so I know it is not limited to people in California. Keep in mind I just received my card today, so just keep your fingers crossed and keep on checking your mailbox. I hope all of you get the card. I am also registered on the Disney website, so they may have picked my information from there.

Hmmm. . . I am an AP holder (Deluxe); Disney Visa card holder; registered on the Disney website, live in AZ, and I even rub my lucky rabbit's foot every day. . .

Yet still no post card for me (and I just checked my mail) :(

Not that I'd actually use it given that I much prefer to stay at the HoJo at their most excellent entertainment rates! :thumbsup2 I just wanted to feel acknowledged by DLR. . . :rotfl:

I was shocked to see those prices in my email this morning. I hope the rates don't sell out that fast, I don't get paid until the 25th. I assume with onsite hotels you must prepay, right?

Tell me about it.

I'm also an AP holder (Premium), a Disney Visa card holder, registered on the Disney website for a few years now, used to live in CA now in NV, and while I don't have a lucky rabbit's foot, I just spent way too much money at Disneyshopping.com!!!

Oh well, whatever. I don't want one anyway. :snooty:

Dumb Disney.

(I'm totally kidding of course. ;) I wouldn't stay onsite even at those prices. We have two other hotels that we favor. Have fun all of you who got the deal and will be using it to book!!)
