hey guys im very new to this and nervous. i dont wanna hide who i am and anything about myself. but im wondering who all is going out there in fall 2007 and looking for friends to meet when i get there!!!!!! so whos all going to the college program 2007!!!!!!

Just a note, not sure if you know this. a LARGE perecentage of the cast members are gay and many are straight. No matter what your orientation you can be yourself and fit right in!

I can tell you when I started my CP back in '06 I had really never met but 1 or 2 openly gay individuals in my "normal" life back home. But when I got here, I met so many people of so many orientations and have made tons of great friends who are on any side of the spectrum.
I cannot imagine a place that is more diverse, more understanding, and more respectful of people of all races, religions, cultures, and orientations. No matter who you are you'll fit in just fine!

so im very confused here and maybe some of you guys can help me out. i have been trying to talk to people about the disney colelge program, or at least find people that are coming to the cp program around the time i am. so far i have met a few individuals one in particular said that he was coming the smae time as me! when we chatted more he was saying that he met a couple of individuals that threatened to kick his *** if he tried to hit on them or even flaunt any sort of his lifestyle around him.... i hope karma comes back around on those individuals

now as far as current employees i was reading a post on here. you can find it under the section disney is the worst comapny to work for. there is a man that i guess his post was deleted ebcasue the information was too personal. well there is another person that commented on it and was saying qoute " As far as the gay managers and promotions, I am not gay but am not blind either. I don't claim to know how it feels to be gay or why they are but, in my experience, people do not give them a chance before allowing their personal beliefs to get in the way. Most of the gay individuals that I have had the pleasure of knowing are proud, hardworking, and especially have the imagination, spirit, and energy that Disney needs to be successful."

now why is it that im hearing so much about everyone being so friendly and excepting in this program when posts and comments are coming up like this? now i know people are probably thinking man is this what this guy only thinks about? but you know its not just about me but about all those other individuals out there that want to feel comfortable and share the magic of disney with everyone else! i always thought that disney is what brings all diversity and race together! im a very shy person as it is until i get to know people, i just hope i dont have to shy away from my room and roomates the entire time! thanks for listening to my rant

i'll be checking in august 22nd for my program. i'm a character attendant.

the conflicting messages on accepting gays is a little bothersome. i'm a lesbian but i don't pose a threat to anyone, especially potential room mates, but i hope people don't think i'm a predator or make them gay...just crazy things, you know how people can be.

when do you head down to disney?

I was the one that had the thread deleted.

Its not a problem with people being gay or lesbian at all. I am a straight individual and have no problem whatsoever with someones sexual orientation.

Here at Disney you will find many, many gay and lesbians here. I certainly wouldnt worry about your lifestyle here. As a matter of fact, most straight guys like the fact there are alot of gays on the program and here at Disney because it just means more ladies for us lol.

As far as the comment about promotions go....

We just dont like the fact that people are getting promoted just because of their sexual orientation. There are some amazing gay / lesbian managers here. Never said they dont work hard or deserve a shot at all. However, when you are working with people, and realize everyone that is getting promoted is only because of their sexual orientation, it causes dissent among other cast members

In my experience, it seems as if a lot of the 2nd tier managers feel they have to reach a "quota" for diversity in their work locations. I would probably say the majority of locations look more at what qualifications they are looking for than anything else, but at the same time you do get the people who try to go for "enforced Diversity" as I like to call it.
