Gay marriage; for or against?

I am a straight girl and proud to say I support gays. It's their choice who they love, they don't tell us what sex to love either. Gay people are actually very nice. :] I don't think it's right for us straights to say that it's "wrong" because they could think the same things about us. They don't think it's "wrong" for us to be in love with the opposite sex.

Supporting gay marriage isn't about what the Bible says or what God says. It's simply about being a decent human being. Supporting gay marriage and supporting LOVE is being a decent human being. That's all it is.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand how you can't "believe" in gay marriage. I just heard on the news YESTERDAY there is proof you are either born gay or it develops in early infancy.

This topic is really touchy but it bothers me how ignorant people are.

And you know what...WHO CARES? Are gay people hurting YOU? I don't think so and if they are you really need to reevaluate your priorities. It's not a bug or a germ, it's not a disease and you aren't going to catch it. There are FAR worse things to worry about than how two people choose to express their love. How about the war? Hundreds of thousands of people have been KILLED. Why the big deal about LOVE when there is death going on every minute.

For me personally, I wouldn't be a decent human being if I didn't support love for everyone.

You can be a decent person and be very nice and not support gay marriage, but I do not think you are being fair or a decent human being. A human being doesn't want other human beings to be hurt, in MY opinion.

And you know what else, I don't think God would ever penalize me for supporting LOVE. The one thing that Jesus spread was love and the word of God is love. Why wouldn't you support that and how could you not support that?

I've found you can't take everything in the Bible literally. The Bible also says that women are dirty after they have given birth and that you shouldn't eat shrimp.

None of this has actually gotten me mad, except that.
You're seriously going to say that a human being loving another human being and wanting to marry them is as "odd" and taboo and eccentric as someone wanting to marry a WALL?

You were probably just trying to draw some twisted comparison so that'd we'd all say, "Yeah, gay marriage is gonna make this guy feel a little awkward, let's not give these people basic civil rights so that he doesn't feel a little social discomfort," but that was REALLY offensive and ignorant.

Besides, who are you or anyone else to tell people what they can and cannot do?

Sure, go ahead and marry a wall. It's not affecting me in the least. However, you can not compare love to a human with love to a wall. A wall can not pursue love back, so why even compare it?
