Gay Exorcism Video

Will you forgive me for not being brave enough to look? :(

I can't watch it either - just know of them and who they are done in the name of - heart wrenching!

Very sad indeed. I did see this video and it breaks your heart, but what is worse is that many seemingly rational people still feel this way about being gay, that it is a choice and it can be something that can be fixed.

I'm not gay, but my 14 year old daughter is and I do everything in my power to make her know that she is loved and normal and that there is nothing wrong with who and how she loves someone.

how sad maybe they have good intentions but i suspect all of these type of people to be money motivated. I was scarred by a church one time and will not step in one to this day. I will read my bible in private though.

I hope they get 'em on child abuse charges. A news channel tried to get a comment from the woman involved and she got pretty nasty with 'em for a "woman of God."

One of my favorite books is "The Unoriginal Sinner and the Ice Cream God" by John Powers (his more well known work is "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up"). It's a great book that really sums up what God is all about, at least in my opinion. The lead character is corresponding with "God" and he asks about something weird a priest said or did. God warns him to be leery of clergy because "I'm not too fussy about who I hire." I loved that!

There is another part where the lead sends an apology note to God for skipping church to play baseball outside because it was such a lovely day. God responds, "No apology necessary. I don't know who built the church, but I made the sunshine." That's the kind of God I roll with!

I hope that the children's aid department takes the kid away from his parents. Who in their right mind would subject a child to that kind or torture? What is the matter with people? Honestly!!! They should be charged and put in jail. It's abuse.

Actually, as an exorcism-utilizing Christian I believe that this was a good course of action to take. I've undergone, witnessed, and participated in exorcisms, and, if done correctly (which many sadly aren't) there is no psychological or physical damage to the person and they show physical and emotional improvement immediately after the exorcism is done.

Besides, if the boy actually consented to being prayed for and wasn't harmed in any way, wouldn't restricting his church's use of exorcism be an infringement on religious rights?

You cannot "exorcize" being gay. Side note, 1 post, just joined in January, hm...stirring the pot a little?

jlewis: just ignore the post... people like this have been popping up all over the place lately. Maybe we can get mike to delete his post. But like the good group we are, we'll just overlook it.

Kinda makes you wonder what would make a person want to go into a church like that to begin with. There's so many other options these days, and with the internet and privacy of your own home, the possibilities are endless. And it's not like any one has to know who you are on the net.

Ok, I am not gay, but this breaks my heart. What is next? Doing an exorcism on someone who is dating outside their race? I have family members who are gay & the way I look at it is, if they are happy, healthy & loved, who am I to come between that? I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds for posting here. If I am, I do apologize.

Not a big fan of censorship here.....so I will leave the post.

But overlooking is good sometimes! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I was just deeply upset about that article. I can't see trying to change what can't be changed.

G!!!

It's just inhuman. That's twice this weekend that posts onthe boards have left me so upset that I lose the ability to be eloquent... :sad2:

It definately re-affirms my belief that belief in a supreme being and religion are two distinctly different and for the most part unrelated things.
