Tolerance goes both ways this isn't appropriate either.

Ummmm... yes it is.

And that is where you would be wrong. My oldest brother is gay, was married to his wife for 8 years before choosing to go in a different direction. My co-worker and sweet friend was married to her husband for 4 years before choosing to leave him for a woman. Both have told me why they chose a same sex partner and left their spouses. Neither one of them believe they were born gay.

When a person very openly "flaunts" anything about themselves, to the point of demanding attention and recognition, it is most certainly a choice.

I stand firm on Biblical principals/teaching and the authority of what is inspired and written within those 66 books. However, I also believe every person has the right to choose (free will) what they believe and follow and I will respect them and love them even if we do not agree. As I said in an earlier post, we all bleed, hurt, have feelings and desire to be loved.

Now you're just laughable. It's so ridiculous it's not even worth commenting on.

I never saw the rest of the message and I'm still trying to decipher what Jesus loves. Burritos? Long walks on the beach? Lamp?

They do this all the time over all the parks and I hate it. I'm Jewish and I really don't want to see religious messages in the sky, especially when I'm working. It's sad because I don't think some people realize that it's not Disney doing it. But hey, if you want to talk about being super uncomfortable at Disney, imagine being Jewish and working during Disney's two month long Christmas. It really sucks.

Do Mods lock topics here (I'm genuinely curious, I don't think I've seen a mod locked topic here)? I visit many different boards and this topic would have been locked on the 4th or 5th page once a handful of people answered the OP and everyone else jumped on opposite bandwagon.

Hopefully they do. I like this board since usually the drama is about multiple FPs, someone not following "proper etiquette" and other tame non sense like this. If I wanted more sex/religion discussion (;), me making air quotes hand gesture, 2nd ;)), I'd go back to the other boards.

Back to the magic people.

Read the quote more carefully. The poster is referring to the conservative christians who are using an airplane to write stuff over WDW (warning about Gay Days at Disney). Not making a statement about conservative christians in general.

I guess I'll agree with you if the idiot with the plane self-identified as a conservative Christian and the poster has seen that documented. Otherwise I would argue it's based on a stereotype no different than gays will misbehave during gay days...

Being Jewish, I'm pretty sure that's the one thing Jesus didn't (or doesn't) love.

Let's stop with the crazy talk right now!!!! I'm Jewish, and next to my family, Disney and baseball, bacon is right at the top of things that I love. If getting into heaven means no more bacon, pretty sure that's not a place I want to be.

Hello! I am gay and am going in November. Here is what to expect from someone that is gay and is going with another gay. First we go to the parks and ride on rides, we eat dole whips, get lunch, we breathe, talk, laugh, go on some more rides, talk to people, buy stuff, and have fun. Rinse and repeat the next day! Hope this cleared things up for you. :rotfl2:

I'm on mobile but I wish I could give a thumbs up.

OP - you asked for information. Here is what I've seen.

I noticed a few T-shirts.

One that I noticed had a woman stick figure + a woman stick figure + a baby stick figure = family.

One that said "flamer" which I guess could have meant he was an arsonist. I know I saw a few more, but that's all I remember.

My kids either didn't notice anything or didn't think enough about it to ask questions.

I didn't really think it was out of the ordinary for any other Disney day.

Have a great trip.

I'll weigh in, as I'm a pretty reliable Thread-Killer, and it seems that's what a lot of people want ...

Just wondering how many people read the OP's questions carefully. He specifically said he didn't want opinions from "Right-Wing Homophobes" who he alludes to as "nutcases". Now intolerance may have reared its head on this thread, but I couldn't find much (if any) of that in his original post. If he represents conservatives, things have changed a lot in my lifetime (and they have). The U.S. (and Canada, where I live) has come a LONG way in a very short period of time in accepting diversity.

Although I think people assume a much more monolithic view of "conservative" and "liberal" than actually exists. I have known many in the LBQT community who are pretty conservative in many respects - including my neighbour, who is slightly to the right of Attila the Hun. Who you love is just one part of the puzzle.

And lastly - the choice debate. Obviously it is not a choice, but my reaction to this debate is often - what if it was? So what? So a guy conciously chooses to love another guy? Why should I care? Why should anyone?

It meant that he sometimes disagrees with other people on the internet.

Not so much a "stereotype" as a conclusion. Who is more likely to pay for a plane warning people about Gay Days: a conservative or a liberal? Who is more likely to be opposing Gay Days, and feel the need to warn people about it: a Christian, or a non-believer? If someone is conservative, are they more likely to be a Christian, or a non-believer? Who protests outside Supreme Court rulings on gay marriage, conservative groups or liberal groups? Christians, or non-believers? While not a certainty, the hiring of the plane is a pretty safe conclusion.

Either way, the poster was in no way engaging in the "broad brush" thinking you allege. Broad brush is akin to "all conservative Christians think that way"--which is not at all what they were saying. Were I a conservative Christian, I would not be offended at the conclusion, any more than I would be offended by someone referring to, for example, "the liberals screaming at a rally", since not all liberals think or act alike, nor do all conservative Christians.

It's well known that the group that rents the plane and writes messages is a conservative Christian group. If you don't believe me read this article:

How's that one song from that Disney movie go? The one about "letting it go"?

That's what we should do with this thread.

LOL I call my mom Atilla the Hun when shes being annoying!!!!! :rotfl2:

I dunno, at this point I'm thinking we should push it and try to be in the top 10 for the month! ::yes::

The only place you'll find hate during gay days is in the sky from the conservative christians using an airplane to write stuff over WDW.

ugh, those planes are the worst. What a waste of gas to fly the plane up for that nonsense.

It's so hilarious that people would go out of their way to NOT go to Disney because Gay Days is happening.
It's not the Folsom street fest or anything.
You can easily tell a young child if they ask why 2 guys are holding hands without having to introduce them to the birds and the bees. It's not that serious. If not at Disney, you could still run into gay people at your grocery store.
