Gay Day rates?

Thank you to the OP for this thread. I stumbled upon it last night and was able to save myself $1200 over my existing reservation at GCH.:cool1: I called the Disney Travel Company and was told they didn't have this rate so I just cancelled my existing reservation and booked online through the Gay Days website.

As a pp mentioned I too am interested in upgrading from a standard room to concierge at the GCH. I might call the Group Bookings number given on the site later this week to check how much it would be. They are closed today.

Thanks again everyone!

I have 6 nights booked at this rate, and after I received my confirmation email I enquired about upgrading to concierge. We were able to do this, but it is an extra $150 per night. Considering that $375 per night concierge is such a fantastic rate, we went with it. Hope this helps.

Anyone know if I can get concierge for the Grand with a Gay Day rate? Can I call and add that? I've already got the Grand booked thru the Gay Days website but I didn't see concierge as a choice..

I was able to upgrade for an extra $150 per night. Still an awesome rate for GCH concierge!

For those of you thinking about buying these for times other than the convention dates, beware.....

(From the fine print on the ticket order page)

"All of these tickets expire on the third day after the last day of the specified convention. Dates vary according to convention. Tickets are not available for purchase at the Box Office and are only valid for convention attendees and their family and friends. Limit eight (8) tickets per conventioneer"

Does anyone know the first day they are valid?

Yeah - it says here that it is the 3rd - 16th. I don't know if these can be added to, but might be worth a try? How many days are you staying?

We arrive on 10/2 and leave on 10/6 - we are going to the Halloween party on 10/5 because 1/2 of my family will not arrive until late on 10/2. My son and I will arrive in the morning on 10/2 so we wanted to fit in an extra day. It is weird about the dates though because we were able to check in on the Gay Dates rates starting on 10/2. You would think they would allow you to go into the park on the day you arrive.

Thanks Liz. This is a great rate for concierge.

I just made my reservations for the Disneyland Hotel and I am so excited!!!! i am always really frugal with the hotels that I get and typically just bid on hotels with priceline. It is still a bit more than if I were to bid, but based on the other hotels in area the price is reasonable (about 50% cheaper than if I were to simply book the hotel on the Disneyland website!). I have recently stayed at the grand and paradise pier but haven't been to the Disneyland Hotel since I was really young!!

I was given a confirmation number, but I did not give them any contact information like my email or phone number...Just to confirm: You pay for the room upon check in??? Just want to make sure I did it right.

Did you book online or talk to a person? If online, I can't imagine it didn't ask you for any contact info. Did they ask you for credit card info?

I gave my credit card number and the names of the people in my party. That was that and she gave me a confirmation number. Said that payment is due upon check in and that was essentially the end of the call, I guess she wasn't the friendliest person in the world....I will call tomorrow to double check that I actually have a reservation!! and to ask for them to send me an email confirmation??? I would have done it online, but the rooms online are sold out, the gaydays website said to call if they were sold out so that is what I did.

If you talked to a person and gave her your CC info, and she gave you a confirmation number, you should be fine. But like you, I like to have a piece of paper in my hand with the info just in case. Can't hurt to ask for an email confirmation.

What day did you get it for? I've been trying and it keeps saying none available. Yeah you!!!!

Here's a question...I see that the room rates are available to everyone...What about the Park Tickets? They are listed as "Convention" but shows the option to buy a 6 day park hopper. Those are much better rates than the regular Disneyland website, and you have the option to buy the 6 day pass. What's the catch?

Where did you see 6 day hoppers? All I see is up to Convention 5 day hoppers for $173 kids/$187 for adults?

I just booked a pool view room with the Gay Days rate and the confirmation said it was "w/ Concierge" -- what in the world could that mean? At that price, I can't imagine that it is actually at the concierge level.

No matter what, the price was great. We added a day to our trip and it was still hundreds cheaper than the rate I had already booked.

Can I asked what the rate is you got for pool view w/concierge at the Gay Days rate? Was it the $179?

When this thread was started, 6 day hoppers were available, but they have since been removed.

The concierge pool view was $304.
