Gay-borhoods.

Yuck! Old people! (I kid, I kid) :cutie:

Well wherever I end up, I think a predominately gay neighborhood would be right for me!

Hey, my partner is an "old person" :rotfl2: But we also like things like "rent control" and "not paying $5000 a month for a 1 bedroom"

If you're looking in the nyc area, you can look in Jersey City (near the water) or Hoboken (or as it is affectionately known in some circles...Homoboken).

Both have pretty heavy gay populations and are somewhat cheaper than NYC.

Yeah we call that one Krogurl. :)

When Tom Thumb was across the street, we named that Mary Thumb. And of course Albertsons, was named Albuttsons.

Silly gays...

The Safeway in the Castro is, of course, the Gayway.

Having lived in Chelsea, Upper West Side, and Park Slope, I was honestly surprised to see that when we left the city, we learned that we've been perfectly comfortable. We recently left NYC and moved to a small town in the Adirondack Mountains.

We were initially a little concerned, but we've been very accepted here. Even our straight-as-a-board, conservative neighbors love us, and have absolutely no problem. In fact, we were nearly adopted! :lmao: My experience is that the whole thing often comes down to the fact that good-people-are-good-people, and the same goes for good neighbors ... no matter who they are sleeping with.

We had a few conservative older neighbors/friends on either side of us in Park Slope too, and they loved us, always going out of their way to be neighborly.

The Adirondacks! Love the area. ::yes::

Have to admit, that's quite a change. Roughly (ever mindful of the internet) are you in the mountains?

Philly has one. Even the street signs have rainbows under them so you know. I would not however like to live in one. It's nice to visit, but I don't generally get along with a lot of gay people because my beliefs and values are so different than most of them. I have gay friends and that's enough. I don't need to be surrounded by the "gay lifestyle" 24/7

We're in the Northern Adirondacks, definitely the mountains. We're in a valley next to a long clearing, so we have the most awe-inspiring views across the valley to several of the bigger peaks each morning on the way to work. It's awesome. Very sweet, very artsy community too. The mountains are ablaze right now with the Fall colors!
