Gator found last Friday under car in GF parking lot !

when I was there in 2004 there was one in the [moat] around the castle you could see it from the bridges over, I was looking as were others when this woman comes up and puts her two very young children up sitting on the stone edgeing of the bridge so they can see the gator, she then turns her back with them sitting there and spends the next five minutes talking to her friend while they sit there pointing and leaning forward. I was terrified.

 We wouldn't think twice if we found him under our car! I'd just try and get him back to the water. I guess it all depends on what you're used to. We see them all the time (and lots bigger than that little one).

Personally, I'd rather find him than the monster (at least 5 ft long) snake I just saw about 1/4 mile from my house!!!

Spotting a baby Gator is one thing, but if I were to see a snake (don't care how small or big) I would freak. And if I saw a snake at least 5 ft. long I would really freak! Especially since I'm only 5' 1" tall! :scared1:  :scared1:

There is a gator residing at Beach Club also..Never bothered anyone....;)

I though he got too big and WDW moved him?

do they still have to be a certain size before WDW can move them?

since they are no longer on the endanger wildlife list.

She was there last year, hope they left her alone..I don't know. I think they dubbed her Betsy...:confused3

So now we know the real truth, its not squirrels that run cars after all.:goodvibes

A gator? :scared1: In Florida? Just what kind of animal do you think ruled Bay Lake before a certain mouse took over? :rotfl2:

The GF has just the right cooks for this sort of thing.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:

I almost spit my soda on my monitor when I read that! :rotfl: Oh, my side, my side.... on a stick is good, in a nice wine sauce with a little rice pilaf maybe....

Disney does have a lot of wild life. I know they aren't as cute as the deers, but it is their home. I can't recall anyone ever being attacked by a gator on property.

Now that the word is out that you can have gators underneath your car, all the guests are going to request them. Towel animals will lose their status, as they can't compete with the real deal.

:rotfl: Good one.

Were you attempting to sit down outside Dinosaur at AKL the end of August. The gal that nearly sat on one there certainly freaked too :goodvibes I'm only smiling cuz I'm so happy she sat down first before I tried to plant my behind on the same concrete area:rolleyes1

If that's not a plug for Valet Parking at the GF, I don't know what is!:rotfl2:

I'm surprised this thread made it to page 2 before this showed up. :lmao:

Just what I was thinking. But we may have to start tipping the valets a bit more.

Awwwww....I hope the baby gator got back to their home safely. I always feel sad for wild animals when I see them under cars, in the roads, etc. They must be terrified. Disney seems to do a really nice job of maintaining wooded areas for wildlife, but I live in the woods in Georgia and the developers here are clearcutting like crazy. I know people have to live somewhere, but everytime I see it I always wonder where the wildlife goes. :sad1:

We saw a gator on our last trip while dining along the waterfront at the Flame Tree Barbeque. As we were leaving the area, several castmembers were at the edge, but I couldn't figure out exactly what they were trying to do. I was kinda glad that my kids saw it, because I had seen one at the Carribbean Beach years ago, and until this past trip, the kids didn't believe me!

Hilarious!:rotfl:

Aaaawwww, da widdle cutie!!!! It really DOES have a cute face! Last year I saw a gator in one of the ponds in one of the golf courses with the WildLife people in their cars surrounding the pond. No one was anywhere near the pond and the gator, so I was assuming they were pulling straws to see who would get out and get it:rotfl2: !

When we were at the Poly in '05, we found a HUGE dead tarantula washed up on the beach. My mom let the groundkeeper know and even he wouldn't pick it up! He went to get some apparatus that reserved for things like this. He said they weren't indiginous (sp? why, oh why doesn't DIS have spellcheck??) but that they do live in Florida b/c of the ideal weather. When I got home and went to our local Aquarium, (that happens to have tarantulas- random) I found out that it was a "bird-eating" tarantula. Yeah, it was that big.
Makes ya rethink first floor accomodations, huh??:scared:
